We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Development Engineer to join our Recruiter Productivity team within the Core Engineering team, at Workday in Israel!
As a member of the Core Engineering Team you will play a pivotal role in transforming intricate challenges into sophisticated and effective solutions, leveraging your in-depth knowledge of coding best practices to consistently deliver outstanding results. About the Role
Lead, grow, mentor, and manage a team of talented engineers and be responsible for the development process of infrastructure tools
Design, implement and maintain the company's infrastructure platform
Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of the infrastructure platform
Drive technical excellence, high product quality, innovation, and timely delivery in an agile, production critical environment
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the infrastructure supports business needs
Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure and processes
Mentor and coach team members to grow their skills and achieve their career goals
Actively help engineering teams to get over their roadblocks.
Support the engineering teams by consulting best practices and how to onboard them.
Provide seamless starting of new software projects, mainly by developing automated building blocks.
Be aware of our current infrastructure and actively seek/test/push new technologies.
Initiate ideas, and tasks.
Be hands-on.
About You
Leadership skills:
3+ years of experience leading and managing teams
Proven experience leading and managing a multidisciplinary team of data engineers and backend engineers, with a track record of delivering complex projects on-time and within budget.
Strong leadership skills and ability to mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, transparency and continuous improvement.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to build relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
Experience with performance management and employee development, including goal setting, performance feedback, and career growth opportunities.
Ability to identify and resolve conflicts and make decisions in a fast-paced environment, leveraging data-driven decision-making and stakeholder consensus.
Technical skills:
5+ years of experience in software engineering
Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and technologies
A versatile hands-on manager with a “getting-things-done” attitude.
Deep understanding of Computer Science fundamentals: object-oriented design, functional programming, data structures, multi-threading and distributed systems
Proven architecture/design skills and knowledge of a wide range of technologies.
Advantages: experience in infrastructure or platform teams
Advantages: experience in ETL, DB, DevEx
