About the Team

We are a passionate and diverse team of driven individuals who excel at problem solving and ownership of outcomes. The authentication security team is responsible for building and maintaining the authentication services for Workday. An average of 3 billion transactions are processed by our services per week. We work in multiple programming languages and technologies to solve unique and exciting problems that arise at Workday's size and scale.

About the Role

Are you driven, self-sufficient, and eager to learn new things? If so, this role might be for you! You will collaborate with product management to gather the product requirements and break them down into pieces of technical work. The role will often involve implementation of features around open standards in security and identity like Open ID Connect. Development work will primarily be in programming languages such as Kotlin and Scala. You will also perform code reviews for others and have constructive design conversations about the best way to accomplish a task.

About You

You are a backend developer passionate about developing high quality, scalable enterprise solutions. You are not afraid to ask clarifying questions when things are ambiguous. You are disciplined, methodical, and minimalist in constructing layered software components that can be embedded within larger frameworks or applications. You have a deep understanding about software design and system architecture. You are interested in system security and digital identity. You have proven the ability to build complex systems using industry standards in identity, authentication and web services. You are looking to learn from others while mentoring more junior developers.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related fields, or equivalent experience

• 3+ years of experience using a source control system like Git, SVN or Mercurial

• 3+ years of experience programming in an object oriented language such as Kotlin and/or Scala

Other Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Enjoys working in a collaborative environment

• Experience developing and maintaining a large web application

• Experience with REST API design and security

• Experience working on complex software problems

• Experience with Jenkins CI/CD

Workday Pay Transparency Statement 

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below.  Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things.
