About the Team

The Accounting Center team is extending Workday Financial Management beyond traditional ERP boundaries. We are looking for a developer to join a fun and upbeat team using the latest of Workday technologies including XO/Prism/WQL/OMS-Grid and Java. As a software development engineer on the Financials team, you will design and develop high-quality, large scale enterprise cloud solutions, in an agile environment. You will not only define the object model and application logic for our product, but also the APIs while collaborating with Workday Prism Analytics and Platform teams. Focus will be on performance engineering for scalability of the Accounting Center for large enterprises. Development is all done in the cloud, on a single code-line, through a continuous development model.

About the Role

Workday Accounting Center ingests, enriches, and transforms business events into detailed accounting data. With complete data lineage back to source transactions, you can gain deeper insights, resolve variances faster, and reduce time to close. In this role, you will partner with software architects, product managers, and others in various product areas across Workday Financials, Platform, and Analytics teams to deliver solutions designed to meet the needs of today's global businesses. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of Workday Accounting Center and bring innovative ideas from a technical design and delivery point of view. This position plays a key role in the Accounting Center’s continued success. We are future proofing our solution to scale with our customers, and their ever growing financial data.

About You

Basic Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience developing web applications and/or Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) products as part of a multi-functional team

• 4+ years of development experience using an object-oriented language such as Java, C#, XO etc. and UML modelling

Other Qualifications

• Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code for functional, unit, and performance tests

• Passionate about mastering new technologies and complex system architectures

• Proficient in designing, developing, and consuming SOAP and RESTful APIs

• Practical experience in triaging and resolving production issues

• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Ruby

• Experience with SQL for querying and managing relational databases

• Knowledge of Financial Software, Accounting or Business Intelligence/Analytics is a plus

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below.  Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
