The Enterprise Data Services (EDS) organization is a dynamic and evolving team that is spearheading Workday’s growth through trusted data excellence, innovation, and architectural thought leadership. Equipped with an array of skills in data science, engineering, and analytics, this team orchestrates the flow of data across our growing company while ensuring data accessibility, accuracy, and security. With a relentless focus on innovation and efficiency, Workmates in EDS enable the transformation of complex data sets into actionable insights that fuel strategic decisions and position Workday at the forefront of the technology industry.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data and Analytics Principal Technical Program Manager to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of data and analytics initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker with solid project management skills and a deep understanding of data and analytics technologies as well as different project and program management frameworks.

Responsibilities:

• Program Leadership:

  • Develop and implement the overall data and analytics program strategy aligned with organizational goals and objectives.

  • Lead multi-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of data and analytics projects on time and within budget.

  • Define and implement program governance structures, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across teams.

• Project Management:

  • Manage the full project lifecycle, from initiation to closure, ensuring all project landmarks are met.

  • Identify and mitigate risks, proactively addressing any issues that may impact project timelines or objectives.

  • Work closely with project teams to establish project plans, scope, resource requirements, and work.

• Partner Management:

  • Engage with key partners to understand business requirements and ensure alignment with data and analytics initiatives.

  • Communicate program progress, landmarks, and challenges to partners at all levels.

  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external partners to facilitate collaboration and drive project success.

• Data and Analytics Strategy:

  • Contribute to the development and refinement of the organization's data and analytics strategy.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to inform strategic decision-making.

  • Collaborate with business leaders to find opportunities for demonstrating data and analytics to drive business value.

• Resource Management:

  • Allocate and manage resources effectively to ensure optimal utilization and productivity.

  • Work closely with team members to foster a collaborative and strong culture within the program.

About You

Business Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Data Science, Information Technology).

• Demonstrable experience (8+ years) in program management, with a focus on data and analytics initiatives.

Other Qualifications

• Solid understanding of data management, data governance, business intelligence, and analytics technologies and processes.

• Superb communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with partners at all levels.

• PMP, PRINCE2, or other relevant project management certifications are a plus.

• Familiarity with cloud-based technologies, data governance, data quality, and regulatory compliance is preferred.

• Analytical mentality with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.

Workday Pay Transparency Statement 

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below.  Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things.
