About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate AI Software Engineer to help build transformative agentic AI systems. This role is critical to implementing tooling strategies, staying ahead of industry trends, and ensuring our AI-driven solutions integrate seamlessly within the Workday ecosystem.
You will work on AI frameworks, contribute to agent workflow orchestration, and utilize large language models (LLMs), agent frameworks, and enterprise AI to design and develop scalable, reliable, and trustworthy AI agents for internal use.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to the design and development of AI-powered agents that enhance developer efficiency and accelerating intelligent decision making.
Help implement agent workflows, integrate with Workday services, and contribute to backend services supporting intelligent automation
Collaborate with other developers, ML engineers, and partner teams to understand technical requirements and build solutions
Learn and apply AI tools and frameworks, including LLMs and agent orchestration technologies (e.g., LangGraph)
Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in generative AI, LLMs, and agent-based systems
Support the development of scalable, maintainable systems and contribute to internal documentation and testing strategies
About You
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of full-time industry experience in software engineering, preferably with machine learning platform exposure
Expert proficiency crafting solutions using Object Oriented (OO) languages like Java, C# or similar.
Expert proficiency crafting solutions in Python 3.
You have hands-on experience delivering products to market which combine traditional software engineering and AI capabilities.
Other Qualifications:
Experience in AI, machine learning, or intelligent automation, with a focus on enterprise applications
Understanding of LLMs, AI agents, and orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangGraph)
Experience building production-quality software with public cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) and Infrastructure as Code (AWS CloudFormation, etc.)
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into AI-powered solutions
Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical ideas clearly
Proven experience in building and delivering high-performance processing systems
Highly motivated to move quickly with a strong sense of ownership
Strong interpersonal skills
