Job Description

As a Frontend Infrastructure Engineer at Wix Viewer, your primary responsibility is to spearhead the construction and upkeep of one of Wix's most intricate platforms. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless rendering of applications across various platforms. Your work will directly impact the entire company and its extensive user base, driving innovation, reliability, and speed in product development. In your day-to-day, you’ll:

• Develop and maintain Wix Viewer, a versatile application supporting rendering on both server and client sides, prioritizing performance enhancements

• Lead projects geared towards technological innovation, enhancing product features, and outperforming competitors in the realm of web development

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate platform enhancements, including Velo, Blocks, and Apps, into company-wide initiatives

• Deep dive into technical discussions, scrutinizing issues and ideas to ensure comprehensive problem-solving and consideration of all relevant use cases

• Engage with fellow developers, acting as a liaison to understand their needs and perspectives, to optimize platform features that best serve Wix's developer community

• Foster a culture of continuous learning and growth, using a wide range of web development technologies to nurture developers' potential and curiosity

Qualifications

• A Frontend Infrastructure Engineer with 5+ years of experience in leading and implementing frontend infrastructure projects in large, complex environments

• Expertise in frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and popular frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js

• Deep understanding of web performance optimization, browser rendering behavior, and modern frontend build tools

• Experience with state management, API integration, and data handling in frontend applications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, product managers, and other stakeholders

• Leadership experience in mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex frontend infrastructure issues efficiently

• Ability to stay updated with the latest frontend and infrastructure trends, and a willingness to adapt to evolving technologies and industry best practices

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and deliver high-quality results in established timelines

Wix Viewer is an application that supports rendering, both on the server and client side, on all platforms, with a special emphasis on performance. We work on projects that have a huge impact on all Wix users as well as their customers, site visitors or app users.

We focus on performance, reliability, company-wide project integration, velocity, and expanding our product features.

Our current projects include technological innovation in new products, winning the performance race against our competitors, new layout and expression capabilities, platform (Velo, Blocks, Apps), and other large-scale cross-company projects.

Our group is very technically-oriented. We deep dive into issues and ideas, open everything into technical discussions and make sure that we’re not missing any use cases.

Our application covers almost every part of web development, so developers in the group have huge growth potential, limited only by our curiosity.
