Applied Data Scientist (LLM & Agentic Systems)

Job Description

Join our Chatbot team and help shape the future of AI-powered customer care at Wix. As an Applied Data Scientist, you’ll lead features end to end—from framing the customer problem and researching potential solutions to designing, building, deploying, and iterating on production systems. You’ll work at the intersection of data science, AI research, and software engineering to deliver reliable capabilities that create measurable value for users and the business.

You will:

• Define customer-care problems, success metrics, and evaluation strategies using data and user insights

• Design, develop, and integrate AI capabilities using LLMs, NLP, retrieval, agents, and related technologies

• Conduct research and experiments to identify effective approaches to real customer-care challenges

• Lead feature development end to end: define requirements, estimate scope, design the solution, write production-quality code, integrate with existing systems, deploy, monitor, and iterate based on real-world performance

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience applying data science and machine learning to real-world problems, including taking solutions from experimentation into production

• Experience with Generative AI, including context engineering, retrieval, automatic evaluation, agentic systems, or comparable applications

• Strong Python and SQL skills, with experience writing production-quality code, working with machine learning frameworks, and building reliable data or AI systems

• Strong understanding of statistics, machine learning, AI fundamentals, and software engineering principles, including testing, version control, code review, maintainability, and observability

• Ability to work independently on ambiguous problems, communicate clearly, and collaborate effectively with product and engineering teams

• Experience with open-source LLM fine-tuning, model evaluation, or production monitoring is an advantage
