Impact of the Role

As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Wingspan, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of technology by building cutting-edge solutions that empower businesses and improve people's lives. You will work alongside a team of passionate and talented engineers, helping us maintain our position as industry leaders and ensuring our products continue to outperform the competition.

What you'll do:

• Collaborate with development teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure
• Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure, deployment, and automation processes
• Monitor and optimize the performance of infrastructure hosted on Google Cloud.
• Implement and maintain security best practices for cloud infrastructure, including IAM policies, encryption, network security, and compliance
• Enhance our existing databases while also introducing new databases to match future needs
• Manage platform configuration and credentials such as SSL Certificates and API secrets
• Ensure infrastructure credentials are rotated frequently
• Ensure infrastructure software is patched frequently

Qualifications 

• Experience in application architecture, distributed hosting, and security
• Hands-on experience with GCP services such as GCE, GCS, Could SQL 
• General knowledge of event driven architecture
• Expertise with hosting via Serverless Frameworks such as Google Cloud Functions or AWS Lambda.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with a focus on teamwork and knowledge sharing

Requirements

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure design and management
• Experience with managing a persistent database such as MySQL, PostGres and MongoDB
• Experience with managing a caching layer as hosted via technologies such as Redis or Memcached.
• Demonstrated proficiency in one or more programming languages for automation (ie Python, Typescript, Node.JS, Go)
• Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Git, Ansible, Google Cloudbuild and Terraform
• Experience with load balancing technologies
• Strong hands on expertise in Systems/Network on a Cloud Service Provider such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS or Microsoft Azure
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with a focus on teamwork and knowledge sharing

Compensation

• At Wingspan, we pride ourselves on offering a competitive and comprehensive compensation package that reflects our commitment to attracting top talent. The annual base salary for this role ranges from $155,000-$180,000, and is accompanied by a target equity package and an extensive suite of benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance. All figures cited are in USD and pertain to workers located in the United States.
