About the Commerce Team
The Commerce (Recommendations & Merchandising) team builds intelligent commerce experiences that power product recommendations, merchandising, search, and personalization for e-commerce businesses.
Our platform combines scalable backend services, modern web applications, and cloud-native data infrastructure to deliver real-time, data-driven shopping experiences. As part of the team, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to build products that operate at scale using modern technologies across backend, frontend, cloud infrastructure, and data engineering.
About the Role
We're looking for Software Engineers (1–3 years of experience) who are passionate about building high-quality products and solving real-world engineering challenges.
Depending on your strengths and interests, you'll contribute primarily to either our backend services or frontend applications while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end product features. You'll have ownership from design through deployment, work with modern technologies, and learn from experienced engineers in a highly collaborative environment.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, test, and ship production-ready features.
- Build scalable, reliable, and maintainable software with a strong focus on quality.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, QA Engineers, and fellow developers throughout the product lifecycle.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues while improving system reliability and performance.
- Write automated tests and contribute to improving engineering best practices.
- Continuously learn new technologies and contribute to improving the developer experience.
What We're Looking For
- 1–3 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong programming fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience building and shipping production software.
- Familiarity with Git, code reviews, debugging, and automated testing.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
You should have hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:
Backend Development
- Python with frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
- Building RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
- Working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Writing scalable backend services with a focus on performance and reliability.
Frontend Development
- JavaScript or TypeScript with modern frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, or Next.js.
- Building responsive, accessible, and reusable user interfaces.
- Integrating REST or GraphQL APIs.
- Managing application state and improving frontend performance.
Nice to Have
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
- GraphQL
- Redis
- Docker
- Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure
- Kubernetes
- ClickHouse
- BigQuery
- Go
- Elasticsearch or Meilisearch
- Apache Airflow
- dbt or Dataform
