9548 - Senior Engineer - Cloud

Job Description:

You will join the Engineering Operations team as a senior engineer, supporting Engineering applications. Initial focus will be learning to support a Java-based application. Once that knowledge transfer is complete, you will support and enhance that application and others like Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.

Responsibilities:

• Learn and support internal applications in Java and Python
• Collaborate with team to support 3rd-party applications
• Communicate on work progress
• Assist in infrastructure development and maintenance
• Perform infrastructure design reviews

The position requires strong Java and database skills, along with some experience with customer support.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

• BSc degree (Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree)
• Experience of Java development and debugging
• SQL database backend, preferably PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of client-server applications and security (HTTPS, TLS 1.3)
• Python development experience
• Linux use and preferably administration experience
• Customer support experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Team player who works well in collaborative situations
• Strong problem-solving, and analytical skills, willingness to take up complex challenges and triage environmental issues

This position will work in alignment with the Eastern time zone as much as possible, especially in first half of 2025.
