Location & Flexibility

This is a hybrid role. This model requires the ability to work in a hybrid mode from one of our offices in El Salvador or Guatemala. Our office culture is designed to foster in-person innovation, collaboration, and connection with team members, local and visiting, from other global offices.

The Opportunity

This role is part of the SmartHome+ team, where you will help build and scale next-generation home security and smart automation solutions that protect and connect hundreds of thousands of households.

Responsibilities:

• Manage software development projects and ensure they are delivered on time and within budget.

• Represent the software development team to external teams, stakeholders, and customers.

• Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and external parties.

• Demonstrate empathy towards team members and their concerns.

• Provide leadership to the team and inspire them to achieve their goals.

• Develop a vision for the team and work towards achieving it.

• Make sound decisions that benefit the team and the company.

• Negotiate effectively with external parties to achieve favorable outcomes for the team, the program, and the company.

• Follow up with team members and external parties to ensure that commitments are met.

• Possesses strong operational skills to ensure the team's objectives are met.

• Encourage team members to work without feeling pushed, creating a positive work environment.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience as a Technical Leader or Engineering Manager.

• 5+ years of experience leading IT projects (Infrastructure, Digital Transformation, or Application Development), including at least 3 years managing projects end-to-end across all phases of the lifecycle.

• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and event-driven systems design principles.

• Solid knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database concepts and their appropriate use cases.

• Proven experience working with AWS cloud environments and cloud-native services. Experience with GCP or Azure is a plus.

• Strong experience with TypeScript or JavaScript development (TypeScript preferred).

• Proven experience leading incident management processes and supporting production environments.

• Demonstrated ability to resolve technical conflicts and align cross-functional development teams.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and promoting documentation best practices.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

• Advanced English proficiency (B2+).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
