About the Role:

Position Overview
The Senior Quality Engineer (P3) designs, develops, and implements advanced automated software application test frameworks while leading quality assurance initiatives across the software development lifecycle. This role develops sophisticated program logic for new application tests and analyzes complex existing testing frameworks, working independently with minimal guidance. The Senior Quality Engineer improves testability of software by establishing and optimizing continuous integration and continuous testing pipelines while mentoring team members on defined projects in Agile environments.

Requirements 

  • Proven experience in automated testing of web applications; 

  • Deep understanding of software development processes and testing methods; 

  • Promoter of shift-left testing approach; 

  • Knowledge of Java (syntax, OOP, Collections framework, multithreading basics, design patterns); 

  • Understanding of the principles of web-applications development 

  • Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Github Actions) 

  • Experience with test management tools (e.g. TestRail) 

  • Hands-on experience with testing APIs and event-driven communications 

Desirables 

  • Knowledge of Spring Framework basics; 

  • Experience with SQL \ NoSQL DB at the level of query writing; 

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS); 

  • Experience with tools integration into automation frameworks (e.g. aws, testRail) 

  • English for written and verbal communication. 

Responsibilities 

  • Design, develop and maintain sets of automated tests for the owned web applications; 

  • Understand, implement, update the testing approach; Take ownership in the future of the testing strategy; 

  • Create, configure, use, and manage test environments and test data. Act as owner of testing environments; 

  • Measure and report test KPIs across all applicable areas when needed;  

  • Ensure the appropriate testing tasks are scheduled during release and iteration planning;  

  • Work as part of Scrum team (PO, Dev, QA) with other team members to analyze business requirements, plan, formulate and achieve goals within iterations; 

  • Actively collaborate with developers and business stakeholders to clarify requirements, especially in terms of testability, consistency, and completeness;  

  • Provide feedback to improve the testing process / practices/ ways of working 

  • Coach other team members in relevant aspects of testing;  

  • Maintain the CI/CD pipeline and infrastructure & work with the team on improvements and validating changes.  

  • Provide support to 3’rd line team or directly to end-users if needed.  

  • While most tasks involve writing tests, manual testing may be used for exploratory testing. 

Stack 

  • Java 17, Selenide for UI and RestAssured for API.  

  • JUnit and TestNG.  

  • TestContainers are used for integration tests.  

  • Jenkins for running tests, Allure for reporting.
