Data Quality Intern

Position Overview

The Data Quality Intern supports data QA/QC and gap analysis across enterprise systems used by the Engineering Department. The role focuses on identifying data issues, tracing root causes, and coordinating corrections to improve accuracy and consistency across platforms. Systems include project tracking, document control, accounting, GIS, and asset management.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform data QA/QC and gap analysis across multiple systems, including project tracking, document control, accounting, GIS, and asset management platforms
• Identify, document, and analyze data issues such as missing data, inconsistencies, and errors
• Trace issues to root cause and coordinate corrections with relevant teams (engineering, GIS, accounting, operations)
• Maintain issue logs and track resolution status
• Summarize findings and communicate data quality issues to stakeholders
• Support data standardization and cleanup efforts
• Assist with ad hoc data research and reporting requests

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Finance, or a related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data comparison tools)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to organize, track, and document work consistently

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Exposure to GIS systems (e.g., ArcGIS) or engineering/project data environments
• Experience with data validation, QA/QC, or reconciliation workflows
• Familiarity with structured data concepts and system integration
