In this role, you will be responsible for designing and building the heavy-duty backend systems that power our application security platform. You will work on complex, multi-integrated systems that require deep technical expertise, architectural thinking, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced environment with frequent context switching.

Responsibilities

• System Architecture: Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance backend systems from concept to deployment.

• Core Development: Develop efficient and reliable backend services primarily using Java.

• Infrastructure & Scaling: Optimize application performance and ensure the reliability of services running in a cloud-native environment.

• Data Management: Design and maintain complex databases, ensuring data integrity and query efficiency across relational and non-relational systems.

• Complex Integrations: Manage and implement multi-system integrations, handling high levels of complexity and technical interdependencies.

• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to define project objectives and participate in rigorous code reviews to maintain high quality.

• Innovation: Stay current with emerging technologies and trends to ensure Mend.io remains at the forefront of the industry.

Requirements (Must Have)

• 7–10 years of professional experience in back-end software development.

• Advanced, deep-seated experience with Java and Spring development.

• Proven experience working with queue infrastructure e.g. Kafka/ Rabbit, Kubernetes, and AWS.

• Solid experience with PostgreSQL and/ or MySQL, including complex query optimization and schema design.

• Demonstrated ability to work on complex, multi-integrated systems where context switching and managing various moving parts are daily requirements.

• Strong analytical skills and a proven ability to solve intricate technical challenges.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate across teams.

• Familiarity with containerization and microservices architecture.

• Being an adapter of AI tools and concept

Preferred Skills

• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

• Understanding of security best practices in software development.

• Experience working on on-prem products

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
