Director, Industrial Engineering

This role in summary

We are seeking a Director, Industrial Engineering reporting directly to the VP of Innovation and Engineering. This role is part of the newly formed Advanced Manufacturing COE, focused on crafting the Strategic Industrial Vision, redesigning industrial processes and achieving New Product Introduction (NPI) excellence.  In this role, you will lead all aspects of industrial engineering, optimizing complex processes and systems. The role requires strong leadership skills, strategic planning and extensive collaboration across various functions like Engineering, Manufacturing and Sourcing.

Your responsibilities will include

• Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to maximize workflow and spatial utilization

• Responsible for designing production layouts and processes to increase productivity, eliminate waste and reduce costs while maintaining quality standards

• Facilitate site Factory Master Plans, working with a cross-functional team to understand the current state of the site and develop an ideal facility layout and flow to meet business needs utilizing industrial data orchestration

• Evaluates and recommends technology and processes in factory including assembly and testing

• Drive process optimization efforts through the implementation of best practices, new technologies, and advanced manufacturing techniques

• Leverage Industry 4.0 ‘Smart Factory’ concepts to boost Manufacturing innovation and efficiency

• Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure seamless coordination and execution of projects 

• Review project proposals, plans and specifications to determine resource requirements, project timelines and budget allocations 

• Utilize cost analysis to guide Make or Buy strategies

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging lean manufacturing and operational excellence principles (World Class Manufacturing methodology)

• Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements related to safety, quality and environmental standards

Minimum requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related discipline

• 10 years of Industrial Engineering or related experience required

• Proven experience in operational excellence, with a strong focus on continuous improvement

Preferred skills and experiences

• Experience working in a global, matrixed organization

• Experience leading large scale global transformation projects

• Ability to influence across levels and functions in the organization

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of effectively conveying complex information to diverse audiences

• Certification in project management (PMP) or Six Sigma

• Experience in finance, with the ability to manage budgets and project financial performance
