Senior Infrastructure Technical Lead (Mainframe)

Location: Kogarah, NSW, Australia

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Infrastructure Technical Lead (Mainframe) to join Westpac’s Mainframe Infrastructure Services team within Group Technology. We are open to candidates applying Australia wide as this person will not be expected to be on site but may be required to attend the Sydney office periodically. 

This person will be responsible for supporting Westpac’s complex mainframe environment and the technical team. This role plays an important part in managing the development and change of the Mainframe and ensures that the agreed solution is delivered within the agreed timeframes. 

You will be involved in the following responsibilities: 

• Responsible for customer engagements for the SW infrastructure team. 
• Communicate with requestors to provide the estimates. Estimates are complied with input from SME’s.
• Clarify that customer requirements are clear, concise, and complete before engaging technical team.
• Manage and report on resourcing and engagements. For example, status reports, forecasting, estimating tools etc. 

To be successful in this Senior Infrastructure Technical Lead (Mainframe) role, you will have:

• Experience in a complex IT infrastructure environment incorporating planning, implementation, operational management, configuration, and maintenance. 
• Have good knowledge of Mainframe infrastructure, technologies, and products.
• The ability to navigate around the mainframe platform.
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Mainframe knowledge is an advantage, although not mandatory
