Automation Engineer
Location: Sydney, NSW, Australia
Create your best future and join Westpac as an Automation Engineer.
What’s the role?
You’ll join our UNITE Program as an Automation Engineer, helping shape the future of how we build and deliver data solutions. This is a permanent, full time role with hybrid working, based in Sydney Warrane, Gadigal Country or the Gold Coast.
You’ll design and build automation tools that remove manual effort from development and testing, making our platforms faster, safer and easier to use. Working alongside data engineers, product owners and business experts, you’ll turn complex problems into elegant automated solutions. You’ll code, integrate APIs, improve CI CD pipelines and make sure what you build is secure, scalable and ready for production.
This role suits someone who enjoys working autonomously while still being part of a supportive engineering squad. You’ll use modern coding languages and emerging AI driven tools to help accelerate delivery across enterprise data platforms.
What do I need?
• Strong experience building software using Python, Java, Go or similar languages
• Hands on experience designing and delivering automation solutions in production environments
• Confidence working with CI CD tooling, APIs and integration patterns
• Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience working in data engineering or platform focused teams
