Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement quality control processes and standards for laser diodes produced overseas, ensuring adherence to specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to monitor and improve their quality control processes.
  • Ensure that the auto inspection processes, and incoming measurement tools are effective, accurate, and compliant with quality standards.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams in Thailand to ensure that laser diodes meet quality requirements and are delivered on time.
  • Identify and address quality issues related to laser diodes. Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives to resolve defects and improve product reliability.
  • Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, audits, and corrective actions. Prepare and present quality reports to management and stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with digital transformation to enhance quality control processes and supplier performance. Implement DFM, FMEA, 8D and lessons learned from quality issues.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. A degree in electrical engineering and Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering, with a focus on semiconductor or optoelectronic components.
  • Proven experience in managing quality control processes in a cross-border context.
  • Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Japanese is an advantage.

PREFERRED:

  • Deep understanding of laser diode technology, including manufacturing processes, performance metrics, and quality control requirements. Experience with laser diode testing and characterization is essential.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards for sampling plan with MIL Standard 105E, and any specific standards applicable to single, double and multiple sampling plan.
  • Experience in drawings and tolerance analysis with GD&T that identified in part and assembly drawings.
  • Experience in Excel form & formula and Macro for automated data collection to provide visualized report and prediction model. Proficiency in Power Query and Power BI is an advantage.

SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in the use and management of auto visual inspection machines, including system setup, calibration, and troubleshooting. Experience with image processing software and machine vision systems.
  • Expertise in quality control methodologies such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R), and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA). Experience with Six Sigma and Lean principles.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and data interpretation using tools such as Minitab, JMP, or similar software. Ability to analyze trends and implement corrective actions based on data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with teams in different regions. Experience in managing and resolving cross-cultural and cross-functional issues.
  • Proficiency in creating and maintaining technical documentation, including quality reports, inspection records, and audit findings. Ability to present technical information clearly and concisely to stakeholders.
