Job Description

​​​​​​As an Engineering Applications Engineer at Western Digital, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our CAD/Simulation/Analytics License and PDM systems. Your expertise in Desktop/Laptop machines, Windows/Mac OS, Networking, SQL Database, VMWare, and Security will be essential for optimizing Engineering Applications tools. Collaborating closely with IT teams, you'll integrate and enhance Desktop/Laptop application workloads to empower engineering teams in product development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy, maintain, and support CAD/CAE/Simulation/Analytics License and PDM systems.
• Proficient in tools like Polarion, JMP, Minitab, Ansys, SolidWorks, MATLAB, BricsCAD.
• Expertise in Windows or Mac Application Management.
• Manage application installation, upgrades, and licensing.
• Develop deployment packages for Engineering Applications.
• Monitor system health and performance using Nagios.
• Document system configurations and procedures.
• Resolve issues related to Server Connectivity and Application Access.
• Create Application Management Dashboard and customize web applications.
• Troubleshoot installation scripts and web applications.
• Address java runtime errors and application malfunction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 8+ years of technical leadership experience in IT and software development teams.
• Proficient in tools like Polarion, JMP, Minitab, Ansys, SolidWorks, MATLAB, BricsCAD.
• Proficiency in application and system support, with a focus on Engineering Applications.
• Strong expertise in Windows and Mac Application Management.
• Proficiency in Java, VB, C# .Net, with scripting skills in PowerShell, Windows batch Programming.
• Experience with MySQL or Oracle DB management.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and risk assessment methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Track record of supporting large user and developer bases, and leading dispersed teams.
