About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Treasury Manager to lead BSIRRM Funding and Deposits product strategy team. This team will develop funding and deposit product strategies, models, and analytics to optimize balance sheet and manage interest rate risk.

This team will work in partnership with Liquidity risk, Capital, Balance Sheet Optimization, Investment Portfolio and other business deposit product and strategy teams.


In this role, you will:

  • Develop funding and deposit product strategy (product terms, pricing strategy, and industry landscape) in partnership with line of business finance and evaluate the product dynamics in different macro and interest rate environments

  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end strategy and analytics of deposits, funding and other liability products for the purpose of Interest Rate Risk in Banking Book (IRRBB)

  • Lead the development of next generation of funding and deposit models used in Interest Rate Risk (IRR) management in partnership with quantitative modeling group with insights into industry practice and regulatory requirements

  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise of key modeling concepts such as deposit attrition, beta, duration and Weighted Average Life (WAL)

  • Drive delivery of analysis, reporting and presentations to senior management, councils and committees with focus on emerging trends to proactively and strategically address relevant topics for identified target audiences

  • Perform complex analysis to evaluate the drivers of changes on the balance sheet, NII and valuation under different interest rate scenarios and explain the results through attribution and back-testing reporting

  • Drive transformation efforts by identifying and prioritizing initiatives, as well as making recommendations on process improvement opportunities and strategic direction 

  • Engage with Liquidity Risk Management, Capital Management, Balance Sheet Optimization, and related teams to assess the intersection in modeling assumptions and risk management

  • Ensure compliance with Model Risk Management Policy guidance, including timely completion of model documentation, resolution of model risk findings and performance monitoring reporting.

  • Collaborate with model governance, risk management, and internal audit teams as well as outside parties including regulatory agencies

  • Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements


Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of Treasury experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 3+ years of management experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • A Master of Business Administration (MBA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or comparable professional designation

  • Experience with Asset Liability Management (ALM), Interest Rate Risk (IRR) and other related areas such as model risk management

  • 3+ years people management experience

  • Knowledge of financial institution balance sheet, product offerings, and financial risk management

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, with the ability to effectively communicate to a broad range of audiences 

  • Ability to deliver multiple concurrent projects or large-scale individual projects

  • Experience assessing the adequacy of policies, procedures, and processes (includes compliance and operational controls within a large complex organization)

  • Ability to work in a team-based environment, prioritize tasks, learn quickly, provide superior customer service, and take on new challenges
