About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Software Engineering Manager
A visionary and transformative Engineering leader to lead some of the scrums for “Procure To Pay” products in Supply Chain Management Technology. This leader will be responsible for driving the engineering teams with latest technologies and principles.
In this role, you will:
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of individual contributor engineer roles with low to moderate complexity and less experienced managers who are responsible for building high quality capabilities with modern technology
- Ensure adherence to the Banking Platform Architecture, and meeting non-functional requirements with each release
- Engage with architects and experienced engineers to incorporate Wells Fargo Technology technical strategies, while understanding next generation domain architecture to enable application migration paths to target architecture, for example, cloud readiness, application modernization and data strategy
- Function as the technical representative for the product during cross-team collaborative efforts and planning
- Identify and recommend opportunities for driving resolution of technology roadblocks including code, build and deployment while also managing overall software development cycle and security standards
- Act as an escalation partner for scrum masters and the teams to make decisions and help remove impediments, obstacles, and friction while encouraging constant learning, experimentation, and continual improvement culture
- Build engineering skills side-by-side in the codebase, conduct peer reviews to evaluate quality and solution alignment to technical direction, and guide design, as needed
- Interpret, develop, and ensure security, stability, and scalability within functions of technology with low to moderate complexity, as well as identify, manage and mitigate technology and enterprise risk
- Collaborate and consult with the Product Managers/Product Owners to drive user satisfaction, influence technology requirements and priorities in the product roadmap, promote innovative and intelligent solutions, generate corporate value and articulate technical strategy while being a solid advocate of agile and DevOps practices
- Interact directly with third party vendors and technology service providers
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for technology engineering including career development and performance management for engineers on the team
- Hire, mentor and guide talent development of direct reports to build the skills required to effectively design and deliver innovative solutions for the supported product areas/products
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 2+ years of Leadership experience

- Management experience, in a technical environment.
- Experience with strategic planning in technology.
- Bachelor's in engineering or equivalent & must have 18+ years of exp. With proven record of leading & managing a minimum size of 18+ team members
- Identify and run use cases to drive cloud adoption while showing hands-on capability in one of public cloud set (GCP, Azure)
- Should have solid understanding and experience in managing code deployment & delivery following DevOps and CI/CD practice. He/ She should have solid understanding of CI/CD pipeline involving tech stack from code version (GitHub), build (maven, Gradle, Jenkins), integrations through deployment & delivery using (Blackduck, SonarQube, uDeploy etc.).
- Well versed with code deployment tools like UDeploy & Jenkins
- Good knowledge of project management tools like JIRA
- Ability to deliver & engage with partners effectively in a multi-cultural environment by demonstrating co-ownership & accountability in a matrix structure
- Ability to motivate staff to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, & work under pressure in a dynamic & complex environment

- Experience in supporting enterprise grade applications.
- Ability to influence and build relationships with LOB stakeholders, technology CIO leadership, external service providers, and architecture teams.

- A bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or engineering.
- Experience with Software Development specifically Java, React JS, Python.
- Experience working in Application Development as well as sound understanding of CI/CD and deployment strategies.
- Demonstrated background and experience with application development and engineering function following industry SDLC practice including Agile.
- Good understanding of automating end to end test suite for java applications.
- Ability to develop technology strategy, operating model & roadmaps with clear objectives and aligned with business, enterprise and WFT strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to consult with key business partners and translate complex, technical concepts so that they are clearly understood in support of sound decisions to meet business objectives.
- Demonstrated experience motivating and influencing groups or individuals across organizational boundaries to gain trust and confidence to make timely decisions.
- Proven experience in establishing a vision, developing the strategy to support the vision, gaining consensus across key functional leadership through effective communication, and driving action towards the vision through the effective management of goals and objectives.
