About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work on our Credit Decisioning Services Team under Consumer Technology to help develop business enhancement and support business critical systems. In this role, you will act as a Senior Engineer, utilizing a thorough understanding of applicable technology with an underlying goal delivering multiple strategies both real time and batch using cloud-based technologies, within an Agile squad that will lead the technology innovation and product development and testing to deliver on its backlog. The team is responsible for providing application design, testing, implementation support and execution for systems within consumer technology. You will be responsible for analyzing complex business requirements and designs specifications to convert them into user stories and tasks within allocated sprint sessions. We are seeking an individual with knowledge of the consumer lending business, specifically domain knowledge of the card systems and practices, Wells Fargo secure coding practices, and a full range of skills from creating and process requirements, database scripting, and automated testing.  The Senior engineer will need an astute technical mind that can navigate through the organizational and process hurdles to work on modern micro services-based architecture while navigating the current system running multiple strategies . In this role, you will:

  • Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
  • Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
  • Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
  • Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
  • Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 2+ years of experience developing applications using tech stack like Python, PySpark, Unix shell scripting, PowerShell, Oracle PL/SQL, SQL, Java, JavaScript, jQuery, Html, or CSS
  • 2+ years of experience using tools/utilities like NDM, SFTP, SCP, Putty, Toad, PyCharm, or Spyder


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with secure SDLC, continuous integration and continuous deployment
  • Experience in Behavioral Driven Development (BDD) & Domain Driven Development (DDD)
  • Hands on Experience in using BDD testing frameworks (Cucumber, Karateetc.)
  • Strong in OOAD, Multi-threaded application development, design and implementation of web applications, Design Patterns
  • Experience in Consumer Banking or any complex middleware applications
  • Knowledge and understanding of cloud readiness/cloud design principles for applications (for VMWare Tanzu/PCF or Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services)
  • Experience with cloud adoption/migration for applications (any major cloud providers/platform)
  • Experience with Applications Performance Tuning, Scaling, Security, Resiliency Best Practices
  • Demonstrated experience in Agile Scrum Methodology and development, application design, software development, and testing
  • Knowledge of JIRA
  • Experience and familiarity using technologies like Web Services (REST, SOAP etc.), microservices development, working on Big data & Hadoop ecosystem, Scheduling tool like Autosys
  • Experience with Database systems MongoDB, MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, ETL tools like DataStage, CI/CD pipeline using tools like Jenkins, GitHub, IBM UrbanCode Deploy
  • Experience writing web pages in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Angular / React with ES6 standards
  • Experience writing automated unit tests for .NET / Java / JavaScript
  • Experience modern UI/UX development
  • Experience in Splunk; JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) development
  • Experience with Microservice / Kafka / Event driven approach
  • Experience developing RESTful API services in an enterprise environment using Java
  • Experience developing web apps with front end frameworks like Angular, React, or Vue
  • Experience developing applications in a CI/CD pipeline using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Gitlab
  • Experience using the MEAN stack (MongoDB, Express, Angular, and Node.js)
  • Ability to consult at the highest technical level on design: planning, integration, implementation, scalability, and problem definition
  • Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills
  • Strong understanding of the software testing methodology (test cases, test suites, DUTs, SUTs, unit testing, system testing, integration testing)
  • Development experience with cloud hosting platforms such as Azure, Google, and Pivotal Cloud Foundry and deploying through containers
  • Cloud certification or experience such as PCF, AZURE or GCP


Job Expectations:

  • In office expectation of 3 days per week
