About this role:

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the Wholesale Operations Technology organization. Our team provides development and support of the Global Servicing Solution application that serves our Wholesale Lending Services organization. With this application we provide a modern workflow solution to intake, process, and quality check Commercial loan maintenance requests. This is a newly created application leveraging the latest technologies, frameworks, cloud, and DevOps solutions. This position will play a role in assisting with the continuing development of features for the application. This Srnior Software Engineer will develop software solutions utilizing Java, React, Spring, Camunda, APIGEE, Kafka, and MongoDB.  

In this role, you will:

• Contribute to the development of features and defect fixes for the application

• Perform unit testing and assist the team with test automation activities  

• Assist with deployment and testing of the releases

• Partner with other team members to deliver on our strategic initiatives. 

• Participate in Agile ceremonies with product team and perform solution design with other developers

• Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments

• Contribute to large scale planning of strategies

• Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments

• Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures

• Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements

• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals

• Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

• Hands on experience doing analysis, coding, and debugging Java frameworks like Spring, Hibernate etc.

• Experience working with distributed systems and microservices

• Knowledge of or experience with Kafka

• Experience working with REST Services

• Experience with API development and knowledge of common design patterns

• Experience managing applications in a cloud environment (Azure, Google, Amazon Web Services)

• Experience working in an Agile environment

• Experience with cloud technologies such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud

• Experience with automated deployment CI/CD tools like (Jenkins, Gradle, UDeploy)

• Experience with “test” centric development methodologies including Test Driven Development (TDD) & Behavior Driven Development (BDD)

• Knowledge and understanding of Camunda is a plus

• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (ex. MongoDB) is a plus

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Familiarity with financial services technologies and banking processes (originations, application, approval, fulfillment and closing)
