About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Product Owner for the Data Science Organization in Cybersecurity.
The Product Owner will support the Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning and emerging technology teams in the Cybersecurity Data Science organization, and will be responsible for building strategy & requirements for AI/ML solutions to achieve business outcomes. Ensures stakeholder management across Cybersecurity and Technology business. Works with Experience Design and Technology to develop software solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Act as an advisor to senior leadership to develop or influence digital products, initiatives, plans, specifications, resources, and long-term goals for highly complex business and technical needs across a functional area within the Digital environment. Understand the engineering solutions and technology choices made and how they enable individual components of the data strategy, and understand the value-driven prioritization, risk management, complexity vs. cost, and be able to assign/track qualitative/quantitative metrics around these to inform the Objectives and Key results.
- Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise. Interpret and develop a range of policies and procedures for technology business functions. Work on the main emerging technology and AI/ML strategy within a federated operating model and Product architecture – to be able to articulate and educate the other POs on the mission, vision, key advantages for cyber, including people, process and technology and organizational aspects of the strategy, and seek their sustained partnership.
- Deliver solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking. Collaborate with other POs to prioritize business demand , balance demand against capacity, and guiding the product area backlog accordingly. Manage/track/report budget, feature delivery, risk & control commitments. Report on product status, alert on key blockers in a timely manner, and negotiate with other POs on key blockers to prioritize their resolution.
- Coordinate highly complex activities and guidance to others. Develop a strong/sustainable partnership with domain engineering SMEs and organizational leadership to collaborate on the target state conceptual model, and to coordinate the alignment of resources necessary to produce the outcomes agreed upon on our product roadmap.
- Provide vision, direction and expertise to senior leadership on implementing innovative and significant digital business plans, programs and initiatives which have significant impact
- Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise. Actively engage with other Product Owners/Risk Partners to bring awareness of AI/ML opportunities that align to their objectives and desired outcomes. As needed, provide opportunity cost analysis to make the case to automate legacy processes and inform decisions with more advanced technology solutions.
- Serve as an expert advisor to leadership
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of digital product management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 7 + years of technology experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with Agile principles for product management
- Certified Scrum Product Owner
- Experience using Jira
- Experience using Confluence
- Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with senior executive-level leaders
- Ability to effectively partner and influence at the executive level
- Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
- 2+ years of Cybersecurity Experience
- 2+ years of experience working on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning or other emerging technology (e.g. Post-Quantum Cryptography) strategy
