About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Data Science Consultant
In this role, you will:
- Act as an advisor to senior leadership to develop or influence objectives, plans, specifications, resources, and long-term goals for highly complex business and technical needs that can be resolved through utilizing data-driven advanced analytical, statistical techniques, algorithms, or models
- Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth hypothesis generation and advanced analytics across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, and advanced inductive thinking, and coordination of highly complex activities and guidance to others
- Provide vision, direction, and expertise to senior leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions generated from data driven insights that are large-scale, cross-functional, or companywide strategies
- Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the company and serve as an expert advisor to leadership to drive recommendations and strategies based on data driven, analytical insights, trends, and patterns
- Execute highly complex analytical experiments and create innovative statistical models to discover solutions for abstract business problems across various domains
- Interpret and analyze data, using advanced analytics modeling methods and programming, to recommend ways to solve problems and influence business decisions and strategies
- Provide consultation on data science best practices, methods, and tools to leverage
- Communicate actionable insights and recommendations using data in a digestible format to a non-technical audience of varying levels, including leadership, across the company
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of data science experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, or computer science

- Communicate actionable insights and recommendations using data in a digestible format to a non-technical audience of varying levels, including leadership, across the company
- Manage the setup of an Advanced Analytics “Capability” development for our I&P operations, working closely with our business stakeholders.
- Develop talent in the Data Science space for the group
- Engage with leadership across different levels and functions within the organization, towards success of the Advanced Analytics capabilities
- Serve as single point of contact and SME for escalations on issues of varying complexity
- Mentor & guide talent development of direct reports and the broader team across local analytics team
Job Expectations:
- 15+ years of experience in leading the implementation of analytics solutions
- 10+ years of experience in design, development, deployment and management of Machine Learning and NLP models for various use cases
- Data Analytics expertise in:
- Building data pipelines to collect, store and process the structured and unstructured data for advanced analytics solutions
- Data preparation (complex datasets), exploratory data analysis to assess the fitment of the data for the appropriate machine learning models
- Leveraging statistical modeling for the betterment of analytical solutions
- Building explainable AI ML & NLP models using supervised, unsupervised and deep learning algorithms
- Advanced Python libraries and big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive or AWS services
- Generative AI & LLM models.
- Investment Banking / Capital Markets / Traded products and asset classes
- Minimal requirement – Banking and Financial Services
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Hands-on people leader with ability to connect across all levels in an organization
- Educational Qualification: MBA/PhD/M-Tech from premier universities
