About this role:
This role involves managing a team of 5-10 professionals working with Investment Banking division, focused on M&A and Financial Sponsor deal execution working with various industry verticals. These teams work on preparing pitching materials, analyzing market position of client companies and competitors, financial modelling, preparing market or sector updates, which helps in M&A advisory to corporate clients. There will be significant opportunities to learn, develop and work as an integral member of I&P Investment Banking business.
Functional Responsibilities:
· Excellent knowledge of M&A and Financial sponsor industry
· Lead India teams on various work streams that form key components of deliverables, such as financials models, to assist senior bankers from valuation perspective
· Guide analysts and associates on other workstreams to ensure objective of client and deal team are met, as well as perform quality check on deliverables
· Work towards expanding scope of work of India team and build integration with US VP’s and MD’s to strengthen the partnership
· Develop strong stakeholder relationship as the team would be working closely with other teams during the various stages of the projects and ad-hoc projects, as needed by onshore team
· Mentor analysts and associates to enhance their subject matter knowledge
· Coach and develop theS team as required, and work on the career progression and planning
· Have strong MS Office skills with the ability to create complex visually appealing charts distilling high levels of information into a chart format
· Understand and respond to the queries raised by US/International bankers and work in a fast paced and iterative manner
· Contribute to various firm wide projects focused on improving efficiency, automation, regulatory compliance, among others
· Demonstrate a strong understanding of Wells Fargo's policies and guidelines
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Securities Research industry experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 2+ years of Leadership experience
- Leadership experience in Investment Banking
Desired Qualification:
· Outstanding academic qualifications – MBA, CA, CFA, or Masters in Finance from a premier education institution
· Experience in Investment Banking, particularly M&A advisory, with experience in managing team in Investment Banking
· Experience in working with onshore team of Bank/Consulting company, preferably with stakeholders in US or UK, would be an advantage
· Knowledge of database tools – Factset, Thomson one, Capital IQ, Factiva, LevFin Insights, LCD News and Bloomberg
· Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Office Applications - Power Point and Excel. Knowledge of VBA, Tableau, Power BI etc. would be an added advantage
· Impeccable communication and interpersonal relationship skills with the ability to interact with senior professionals and key stakeholders
· Strong logical, analytical skills and a systematic problem-solving approach
· Attention to detail and ability to ensure high quality of deliverables
· Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management. Results driven, accountable and ability to work with multiple priorities in a fast-paced IB environment
