About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer to join the Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) Cloud Engineering & Operations team. Specifically, this is a critical role on the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Engineering team to build IaC across EFT, develop an input model, build IaC standards, deploy policy as code, IaC tooling and build IaC factory modeling. This role is accountable for IaC for Pyfarm, IaC for QRM, IaC EFT standards deployment, integration of IaC into Ci/CD pipeline, and policy as code capability. 


In this role, you will:

  • Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
  • Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions
  • Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
  • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
  • Lead complex technology cloud initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
  • Establish and contribute to an automation provisioning capability of cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  • Define, engineer and deploy standards in the development for large-scale solutions including the design, optimization, documentation and deployment of all aspect of infrastructure, including cloud, using automation
  • Establishment of a centralized capability to support IaC development, versioning, and deployment
  • Development of automation to support Azure and GCP services
  • Develpment and support of container orchestration including container management and deployment of compute resources. Engineering of container-based solutions and services and technical support of large-scale Kubernetes based infrastructure including the build out and provisioning on Azure or GCP
  • Engineering and deployment of a large scale IaC DevSecOp capability include the development of governance and logging/monitoring controls needed to enforce policy and best practices


Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Infrastructure Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of Hands-on experience with DevSecOps and SDLC tooling (GitHub, Jenkins, Cucumber, Harness)
  • 4+ years' experience with scripting and infrastructure automation using Terraform
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with GCP or Azure platform enablement and application migrations, build out of complex infrastructure programmable patterns using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)


Desired Qualifications:

  • Scripting and infrastructure automation using including Python/Go, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible and Terraform
  • Experience with Agile concepts and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Principles
  • Understanding, engineering, and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity playbooks
  • Proficient on container-based solutions and services and have handled large scale Kubernetes based infrastructure build out and provisioning on Azure or GCP
  • Knowledge and understanding of Cloud Service offerings on Azure or GCP related to security, data protection, and policy implementations
  • Ability to articulate technical solutions to both technical and business partners
  • Good understanding of networking, firewalls, load balancing concepts (IP, DNS, Guardrails, Vnets) and exposure to database, cloud security, active directory, authentication methods, RBAC
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) with ability to communicate at multiple levels ranging from technologists to senior managers and executive leadership. 
  • Experience in providing thought-leadership, expertise to formulate and execute on major strategies to develop/deliver robust and scalable solutions. 
  • Exposure to Cloud and its service offerings, including automation, orchestration, trends and industry-leading cloud vendor offerings. 
  • Ability to deliver & engage with partners effectively in a multi-cultural environment by demonstrating co-ownership & accountability in a matrix structure. 
  • Ability to develop and execute business vision, strategies, and goals. 
  • Ability to research and self-study to keep technical skills relevant in a highly complex environment. 
  • Experience with design, implementation and governance with Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing or Machine Learning Architecture. 
  • Experience with Agile, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CI/CD), DevOps concepts, and Site Reliability Engineering principles. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of application or software security such as: web application penetration testing, secure code review, secure static code analysis. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of complex enterprise systems and frameworks including frontends, middleware, services layer, database, backend, and downstream interfaces 
  • Cloud certification on Azure or Google Cloud Platform.

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$144,400.00 - $300,000.00
