We are seeking an accomplished Head of Architecture and Engineering – Commercial Lending to define and execute the technology strategy for large-scale commercial lending platforms. This executive leadership role is ideal for professionals with extensive experience in enterprise architecture, engineering leadership, and financial technology who are passionate about driving innovation, operational excellence, and digital transformation across complex enterprise ecosystems.

As the Head of Architecture and Engineering, you will lead the strategic direction for architecture, engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, testing, data, and AI capabilities that power commercial lending solutions. Working closely with executive leadership, business stakeholders, and technology teams, you will establish scalable technology roadmaps, modern engineering practices, and governance frameworks while ensuring platforms remain secure, resilient, compliant, and aligned with long-term business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the enterprise architecture and engineering strategy for commercial lending technology platforms.
• Lead large, multidisciplinary teams across architecture, software engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, testing, business analysis, systems analysis, data, and AI.
• Establish technology standards, governance frameworks, and best practices that ensure scalability, resilience, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Drive modernization initiatives by adopting cloud-native architectures, Agile delivery models, DevOps practices, and AI-enabled engineering capabilities.
• Partner with executive leadership and business stakeholders to align technology investments with strategic business priorities.
• Oversee architecture decisions, platform modernization, system integration, and engineering delivery across enterprise lending applications.
• Champion engineering excellence by improving software quality, delivery efficiency, operational reliability, and platform performance.
• Lead technology transformation programs that enhance customer experience, lending operations, risk management, and business agility.
• Build high-performing leadership teams through mentoring, succession planning, and organizational capability development.
• Manage technology budgets, vendor relationships, operational risks, and governance processes to ensure sustainable business growth.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across the engineering organization.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 20+ years of experience in enterprise technology, software engineering, architecture, or technology leadership, with significant executive-level responsibility.
• Proven experience leading enterprise architecture and engineering organizations within financial services, banking, commercial lending, or similarly regulated industries.
• Deep expertise in enterprise architecture, technology strategy, distributed systems, and large-scale engineering transformation.
• Strong understanding of modern engineering practices, including Agile, DevOps, cloud platforms, infrastructure automation, testing, data engineering, and AI technologies.
• Demonstrated success leading large, geographically distributed engineering teams while building high-performing leadership communities.
• Experience delivering enterprise-scale transformation programs involving platform modernization, digital innovation, and operational excellence.
• Strong knowledge of governance, security, compliance, risk management, and regulatory requirements applicable to enterprise financial platforms.
• Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, and strategic decision-making skills with the ability to influence business and technology leadership.
• Proven ability to manage large technology budgets, supplier partnerships, and complex delivery portfolios.
