"Hey, this is Philip; you're the hiring manager for this role; although we're sharing ambitious requirements here to make sure we get applications that stand out, the reality is that I don't care about fancy CVs or backgrounds; if you're good, you're good. But you need to prove it with a strong portfolio or a challenge. Please only apply for this role if you are confident that you meet our criteria. We're looking for a real rock star who can create super sophisticated web applications, AI user experiences, and the interface of the future to interact with LLMs and the vector database of the future."

- Help shape how our users interact with the vector database of the future by building iterative improvements to the user interface, accessibility, and usability of our tech demos and proof-of-concept applications.
- Come up with new, creative ideas to showcase Weaviate’s features, integrations, and JS/TS clients.
- Build secure web applications with Next.js 15, focusing on server-side rendering and type safety.
- Develop modular streaming elements to enable live interactions with LLMs for both chat and text generation.
- Design and build a flexible UI framework that can be used across different applications.
- Support Weaviate’s growth and community education by creating technical and visually engaging materials to support our new features, integrations, or releases.
- Independently manage end-to-end frontend development, design, and community engagement, including architecture decisions, technical planning, and aesthetics, inspiration, and implementation.
- You like to work with a young, ambitious, fast-moving team.
What we are looking for
- Minimum 3 years of web application development experience in production environments.
- Advanced knowledge of Next.js, TypeScript, and current web architecture patterns.

- You are a quick learner and thrive in a self-directed, flexible work environment where projects may evolve and expand.
- You have an eye for visual aesthetics, especially web applications.
- You are aligned with our company values
We will request your portfolio of public projects (website, GitHub, etc.) to assess your qualifications. Alternatively, you can complete a technical challenge to demonstrate your skills for this role. We will follow up on this after our initial screening.
What we offer
- Join a fast-paced team, make a real impact and choose the direction in which you want to develop.
- 100% remote with flexible work hours.
- Competitive compensation, including paid time off.
