About this role

As a JavaScript/Typescript Engineer, you’ll work with the Developer Growth team to create demos workflows, integrations, and applications in JavaScript/TypeScript (JS/TS) using Weaviate. You’ll be involved in making technical content for the JS community and supporting the team in coming up with original projects and showcases. As a member of a highly skilled, young and ambitious team, you will enjoy a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

This is what your responsibilities will be 

• Build workflows, integrations, and applications in JS/TS that show the possibilities of Weaviate. 
• Keep up to date with the community and showcase new technology with Weaviate. 
• Support Weaviate’s growth and community education by creating technical materials to support new features, integrations, or releases. 
• Be a great team player by collaborating with your peers, learning from others, and sharing your knowledge.

What we are looking for

• Experience working with JavaScript/TypeScript, experience with building websites in JS/TS web frameworks.
• You love to work with JavaScript and Typescript to create cool projects and you also have familiarity with NextJS or other web development frameworks.
• Experience working with open-source software is a big plus.
• Some experience in creating visuals for technical concepts with common design tools, such as Figma, Miro, or Adobe Illustrator
• You love to share your knowledge and learnings with others and come up with original ideas.
• You’re interested in the community and love learning about new products, features, or use cases.
• Quick learner, excited to dive into new topics, and able to explain complicated concepts to others.
• You have an eye for visual aesthetics, especially on websites.
• You like to work with a young, ambitious, fast-moving team.
• Ideally, you have a portfolio of publicly available content, whether in the form of a blog, Kaggle/GitHub profile, or a YouTube channel.
