  1. Team Leadership and Strategic Oversight
    • Build and lead a multidisciplinary team of experts in Linux builds, sensor drivers, networking, and camera systems.

  2. Hardware/Software Integration
    • Oversee the development and maintenance of hardware-tailored operating systems to ensure compatibility and optimize performance.
    • Direct efforts to enable sensors, camera systems, and other hardware components for use by Wayve’s autonomous vehicle (AV) applications.
  3. Platform Security and Stability
    • Ensure robust system-level security, including networking and disk encryption.
    • Drive the team’s efforts to deliver secure and reliable OTA updates for the fleet.
  4. Vendor and Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Manage relationships with hardware vendors and align team deliverables with business and technical requirements.
    • Act as the interface between the team and other organizations, negotiating priorities and deliverables.
  5. Technical Mentorship and Talent Development
    • Recruit, mentor, and grow your team, cultivating technical excellence.
    • Identify skill gaps and facilitate training to meet the evolving needs of the team.

About you

  • Experience in Hardware/Software Integration: Demonstrated ability to deliver software solutions bridging hardware and high-level applications.
  • Strategic Acumen: Proven ability to define, negotiate, and execute technical roadmaps.
  • Collaborative Abilities: Exceptional communication skills to effectively liaise with hardware teams, application developers, and other stakeholders.

Desirable:

  • Automotive Sensor Expertise: Experience working with automotive sensors and technologies like cameras, LiDAR, or radar.
  • Platform Development: Experience with embedded GPUs, Yocto builds, SOC-specific libraries (e.g., CUDA on Orin), or similar technologies
  • Educational Excellence: A Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

This role offers a unique opportunity to define the software foundation of Wayve's autonomous vehicles, ensuring innovation, reliability, and seamless hardware/software integration as we shape the future of mobility.

This is a full-time role based in our office in Sunnyvale, California.  At Wayve we want the best of all worlds so we operate a hybrid working policy that combines time together in our offices and workshops to fuel innovation, culture, relationships and learning, and time spent working from home.

We understand that everyone has a unique set of skills and experiences and that not everyone will meet all of the requirements listed above. If you’re passionate about self-driving cars and think you have what it takes to make a positive impact on the world, we encourage you to apply.

As a student navigating the job market, I've found LinkedIn increasingly frustrating due to numerous fake postings by consultancies. In contrast, this job posting website has been a game-changer for me. It offers genuine opportunities and a straightforward application process, making it much easier to find and apply for real jobs. Highly recommend it to fellow students seeking reliable job listings!

Echo Jobs has been exceptional in my job hunt where it provides one platform to job hunt and I don't have to open 10 websites just to look for a job. It has also helped me focus much on the job skill and the location filtering out the onsite jobs and remote ones. The only feature that I would request is to display fully remote jobs that are not restricted to a country since the one available shows ie, Remote, US yet. But if it could show remote only, that would be helpful not only to me but to other people applying for full remote and not tied to only US candidates

I found EchoJobs in 2022, and I love it. It has a lot of remote jobs. It's exclusive to software and technology jobs (helpful for devs like me). What I like the most are its filters and its API. If you're a tech professional seeking remote work, I highly recommend giving it a try to EchoJobs.

Simply put, it's the most up to date tech jobs aggregator I’ve found. I'm like... "I don't have to check 10+ jobs boards daily just to see if there's a new job listing? sign me up!" The filters are also quite helpful! The UI is very clean and straightforward. Love it!
