What You’ll Do
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of talented engineers in designing, developing, and scaling Wayfair’s next-generation video advertising platform. You will:
- Build and lead a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
- Define and execute the technical strategy for scalable, high-performance video ad-serving solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and guide roadmap decisions, including product management, data science, and ad operations, to shape the roadmap and deliver impactful solutions.
- Drive execution and delivery, managing priorities, timelines, and stakeholder expectations in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Ensure engineering best practices, driving initiatives around software quality, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Mentor and grow engineers, providing technical guidance and career development opportunities.
We Are A Match Because
- 5+ years of experience managing software engineers, facilitating career growth and project delivery
- Extensive experience communicating and reporting KPIs and project status to senior management
- 8+ years of experience in backend software engineering using object oriented language and preferably Java
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience working with relational and non-relational databases
- Experience working with event-driven architectures, DDD, and TDD
- Mastery of some flavor of modern frontend frameworks and technologies like React, Redux, etc
- Experience in Big Data technologies like Apache Kafka/Apache spark/Nosql databases
- Preferred experience in the CI/CD tools/platforms like Buildkite/Docker/Kubernetes.
- Experience with Cloud Native architecture platforms like Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure.
- Experience in system monitoring using tools like DataDog etc.
