This role is perfect for an experienced Back-End engineer who is passionate about technology and engineering excellence. You will be expected to guide and mentor a team while defining and maintaining technical architecture. The role combines hands-on development, collaboration, and project management, making it a dynamic and impactful opportunity within Walmart's Global Responsibility SparkGood Programs team.
What you'll do:

What you'll bring:
- Experience: Over 7 years of experience in backend software development and related technologies.
- Programming Expertise: Proficient in object-oriented programming with extensive experience in Java8 & related frameworks, as well as a strong understanding of their lifecycle, multithreading, networking, offline storage, and performance optimization.
- System Design and Architecture: Experience in designing software systems and proficiency in app architecture using design patterns such as MVVM, and the development of high-availability and fault-tolerant systems.
- Technical Knowledge: Expertise in Java8+, SpringBoot, design patterns, messaging architectures like Kafka, and API development. Experience with GQL is a plus.
- Micro-services: Strong experience with RESTful Micro-services.
- Databases: Proficient in working with both SQL and NoSQL databases, including SQL Server, MySQL, Cosmos, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
- Container Technologies: Skilled in container technologies, particularly Docker on Kubernetes.
- API Development: Solid experience in API design, development, and management.
- DevOps: Experienced in DevOps practices, with a proven track record of building CICD processes and automation.
- Testability: A focus on building products that emphasize testability, with a passion for test coverage.
- Development Practices: A disciplined approach to development, including code reviews, testing, documentation, and maintaining proper code structure in a team setting.
- Continuous Improvement: A drive for improvement, with a constant desire to learn and incorporate the latest features.
- Cloud Architecture: Experience with cloud architecture, particularly in Azure, is preferred.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities with an aptitude for problem-solving.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
