Role summary:
The Senior Data Analyst will leverage advanced data management, analysis, and visualization techniques to support business decision-making across multiple domains. This role requires expertise in identifying appropriate data sources, ensuring data quality, and applying analytical methods to solve complex business challenges. The position involves collaborating with stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable insights, developing data-driven strategies, and communicating findings effectively. Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data visualization tools (primarily PowerBI) is essential to deliver impactful results that align with organizational goals and drive continuous improvement.
About the team:
The Inbound Operational Analytics team serves as Walmart Transportation’s intelligence engine for inbound operations. Combining operational expertise, advanced analytics, data engineering, continuous improvement, and AI, the team transforms transportation data into actionable insights. Their mission is to enhance service, reduce costs, increase visibility, and enable faster, data-driven decisions across Walmart’s inbound supply chain. Success on this team requires strong business understanding, stakeholder collaboration, and curiosity to identify opportunities beyond standard reporting. The team develops innovative tools and insights that address operational challenges and support proactive problem-solving for the business.
What you'll do:

• Identify and source relevant data from multiple business domains to support analytical needs and decision-making.
• Conduct initial data quality assessments and lead data cleansing efforts to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Translate complex business requirements into actionable data projects aligned with strategic objectives.
• Develop and apply advanced analytical methods and visualization techniques to generate insightful reports.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to communicate findings clearly and influence data-driven business solutions.
• Mentor junior analysts on best practices in data analysis, visualization, and quality management.
• Monitor and maintain data governance standards to uphold compliance and data integrity.

What you'll bring:

• Proven expertise in data analysis, data management, and data cleansing with strong proficiency in SQL and Python programming languages.
• Experience in identifying and sourcing data from multiple business domains, ensuring data quality and relevance for decision-making.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques to effectively communicate complex insights to stakeholders.
• Ability to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions aligned with organizational strategy.
• Familiarity with data quality management frameworks, data governance, and enterprise data architecture principles.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills to support cross-functional collaboration and project success.
• Experience with exploratory data analysis and statistical techniques to uncover trends and inform business recommendations.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $155,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
