Join our dynamic and forward-thinking People Technology engineering organization as our Director, Software Engineering, where you’ll be at the forefront of driving innovation, spearheading transformative projects and foundational improvements. We are seeking a sharp technical leader who can seamlessly bridge the gap between business requests and architecting the technical landscape to deliver. Your projects will have tremendous impact, be scalable, and at the center of modernization efforts in Walmart’s People Technology organization. 

• Provide strategic guidance and hands-on support in the development of best practices, architectural designs, and technology solutions.
• Lead and mentor teams in the implementation of complex systems, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the continuous improvement of our technology stack and processes.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in software engineering, advocating for their adoption where appropriate.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and resilient systems that meet business goals and customer needs.
• Participate in design, architectural discussions, and troubleshooting sessions to ensure the highest standards of development.
• Drive a culture of accountability, ownership, and inclusivity within the team.
• Lead the end-to-end integration of Workday and SAP SuccessFactors systems with open source technologies in large-scale tier-0 systems.

• Strong engineering leadership expertise in medium to large size company.

• Proven experience in hiring and mentoring world-class engineering teams.

• Leading largescale systems in fast-paced environments,

• Expertise in full stack technologies (Java, Node.js, React, NoSQL/SQL etc.)

• Experience in one or more public cloud technologies like GCP, Azure, etc.

• Experience in working in large teams using CI/CD and agile methodologies.

• Providing thought leadership and defining technology strategies 

• Being an admired subject matter expert in one or multiple technology areas 

• Directing and reviewing architectural artifacts (for example, proof of concepts, prototypes, architectural design) and providing valuable recommendations for improvements 

• Advising or conducting POCs to vet out new technologies 

• Driving for Architecture, Engineering, and Technology excellence 

• Big-picture and strategic thinking   

• Prioritizing, focusing, and delivering tangible results
