What you'll do

  • Provide technical leadership and architectural direction for complex, high-impact engineering initiatives spanning multiple teams and technology domains.
  • Design and develop scalable, secure, resilient, and high-performing enterprise applications that deliver measurable customer and business value.
  • Lead the architecture and implementation of distributed systems, microservices, APIs, event-driven platforms, and cloud-native solutions.
  • Drive end-to-end technical solutions across backend, frontend, data, cloud, and AI, balancing scalability, reliability, performance, security, and cost.
  • Apply strong computer science fundamentals, system design, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns to solve complex engineering problems.
  • Lead architecture reviews, design reviews, and code reviews, establishing engineering standards and driving technical excellence across teams.
  • Build and integrate Generative AI and LLM-powered solutions, including RAG, AI agents, intelligent automation, and AI-assisted workflows.
  • Design production-ready AI/ML and agentic systems, incorporating model selection, prompt/context engineering, embeddings, vector search, tool calling, evaluation, observability, guardrails, and human oversight.
  • Leverage platforms such as Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, and Google Gemini to deliver secure, scalable, and enterprise-ready AI capabilities.
  • Partner with Product, UX, Data, Security, Privacy, Architecture, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into simple, scalable technology solutions.
  • Drive modernization, automation, performance optimization, cloud cost optimization, and technical debt reduction across platforms.
  • Champion security and privacy by design, ensuring solutions meet enterprise security, compliance, and data protection requirements.
  • Establish engineering excellence through CI/CD, automated testing, observability, logging, monitoring, reliability, and operational best practices.
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex production issues through root-cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions.
  • Mentor and coach engineers, raise the technical bar, and foster a culture of innovation, ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and AI capabilities and translate them into practical, measurable enterprise solutions.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience building large-scale enterprise applications.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
  • Strong frontend experience with React.js and TypeScript.
  • Strong foundation in Data Structures, Algorithms, Object-Oriented Design, Design Patterns, and System Design.
  • 4+ years of experience designing and delivering scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
  • Strong experience with databases, data modeling, caching, messaging, asynchronous processing, and event-driven architectures.
  • Strong Python development skills, particularly for automation, data, AI/ML, and GenAI applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, AI agents, and agentic workflows.
  • Experience with prompt engineering, context engineering, embeddings, vector databases, tool/function calling, model evaluation, guardrails, and LLM observability.
  • Strong understanding of application security, authentication/authorization, secure coding, privacy, and data protection.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum or similar software development methodologies.
  • Experience in retail, ecommerce, finance, or other large-scale enterprise environments is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence architecture and technical direction across teams without direct authority.
  • Strong ability to simplify complex problems, make sound technical decisions, and balance business value, engineering excellence, scalability, and delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence engineers, architects, product leaders, and business stakeholders.
