Walmart Global Tech is looking to hire a seasoned Software Engineer for Marketplace team. We are looking for an engineer who comes with a strong Backend development background and is passionate about solving problems at a scale.
About Team:
Marketplace Engineering team is at the forefront of building core platforms and services to enable Walmart to deliver vast selection at competitive prices and with best-in-class customer experience by enabling third-party sellers to the marketplace platform, sell and manage their products to our customers on walmart.com. We do this by managing the entire seller lifecycle, monitoring customer experience, and deliver high- value insights to our sellers to help them plan their assortment, price, inventory. The team also actively collaborates with partner platform teams to ensure we continue to deliver the best experience to our sellers and our customers.
The Marketplace team builds Payments & Financial Services for our sellers. We work in close partnerships with cross- functional engineering, data science/ML teams, design, legal compliance, and technical program, where you will lead engineers to execute on the product vision & roadmap to deliver on well-defined business objectives. You will be responsible for building experiences for our Sellers to manage their growth and marketing campaigns by providing seamless onboarding, campaign workflows and analytics dashboard. You will closely work with Data Science team to build models to help with Seller's growth.
What you'll do:
Walmart Global Tech is looking to hire a seasoned Software Engineer for Marketplace team. We are looking for an engineer who comes with a strong Backend development background and is passionate about solving problems at a scale.
Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards
Drives technical vision and influences product roadmap and vision
Implement large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects
Leads the discovery phase of large projects to develop high level design
Supervise the work of cross-functional groups of engineers, including IDC associates
Directs root cause analysis of critical business and production issues.
Documents testing and maintenance of application corrections and improvements
Influence decisions, builds consensus, and resolves conflicts constructively and proactively
Supports business objectives and ensures the business needs are being met
Must have skillset on these technologies Java, JEE, MicroServices, REST, Spring Boot, SQL, NoSQL DB or Cassandra. Must have skillset on Kafka or Messaging experience
What you'll bring:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience with 3+ years of experience in architecting large scale systems with challenges of scalability and delivering sub-second latencies on 99.99% uptime.
Expertise in one or more programming languages (e.g. Java, Python, etc)
Strong background in algorithms and data structures.
Proven understanding of microservices oriented architecture and extensible REST APIs
Experience with cloud application development including scalable, data driven, Cloud Cost-optimization and message-oriented architecture.
Understanding of SaaS, PaaS, IaaS industry with hands on experience with public or private cloud offerings (e.g., AWS, GAE, Azure)
Experience using any of the automation toolset like Appium, Selenium, Jira, Rest Assured, AssetJ, Gatling, etc. or equivalent tools is a plus.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and best practices.
Automated deployment experience is a plus.
Advanced knowledge of performance, scalability, and system architecture with an eye toward avoiding and reducing technical debt.
Practical knowledge of agile software development methodologies (e.g., XP, Scrum)
Experience in large scale distributed systems and event-driven architectures
Experience and fluency with relational / non-relational databases (e.g. MySQL, Oracle, Cassandra, etc)
Strong inclination towards exploring and learning new technologies
Good to have:
Micro backend architecture exposure.
Strong understanding of Agile methodology and leveraging SDLC tools to improve development CI/CD, and testing efficiency (JIRA, Jenkins, GIT, JUnit, Selenium, Lint)
Experience with Azure Cloud Stack, GCP or other cloud stacks.
Knowledge of open-source libraries, design patterns and micro-service architecture.
Previous experience in internalization is a plus.
Writing functional tests using tools such as Cypress is an added advantage.
Strong creative, collaboration, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as a team player.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00-$234,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
