What you'll do...

Position: Senior Software Engineer

Job Location: 2101 SE Simple Savings Dr, Bentonville, AR 72712

Duties: Leads the work of other small groups of four to six engineers, including offshore associates, for assigned Engineering projects by proving pertinent documents, direction, and examples. Identifies short- and long-term solutions and timeline. Reviews and provides feedback for proposed solutions; and performs design and code reviews of changes. Troubleshoots business and production issues by gathering information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause). Engages support teams to assist in the resolution of issues. Formulates an action plan. Performs actions as designated in the plan. Interprets the results to determine further action. Performs root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues; and completes online documentation. Provides support to the business by responding to user’s questions, concerns, and issues (for example, technical feasibility, implementation strategies). Identifies short- and long-term solutions. Facilitates resolutions; and leads cross-functional partnership. Leads the discovery phase of medium to large projects by reviewing project requirements. Translates requirements into technical solutions. Gathers requested information (for example, design documents, product requirements, wire frames). Writes and develops code. Conducts unit testing. Communicates status and issues to team members and stakeholders. Collaborates with project team and cross-functional teams. Troubleshoots open issues and bug-fixes. Ensures on-time delivery and hand-offs. Interacts with project manager to provide input on project plan; and provides leadership to the project team.

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field plus 2 years of experience in software engineering or related experience; OR Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field plus 5 years of experience in software engineering or related experience.

Skills required: Must have experience with: Point-of-Sale (POS) systems development; 4690 Point-of-Sale (POS) OS; Design, development, and implementation using c and C++; Design and implementation of TSA applications using c and C++ on 4690 OS; Linux and Unix OS; Developing applications and tools with Java, Python, and Perl; Designing and implementing rest API services using Golang; Client server architecture and microservices architecture; Development using relational database management systems; Development of tools, applications, user interface using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS stylesheets; and Development using Shell and Perl Scripting.
