Position Summary...

What you'll do...

Do you like building ML based payment and restricted spend platforms that have a multi-billion dollar impact? Do you like staying ahead of the rapidly evolving fintech and healthcare industry? The transaction systems platform product manager will drive and lead multi-year Directed Spend, Payments, Checkout and Promotions roadmap for dotcom, stores, and clubs. Data Science and Business Insights is one of the top priorities for Walmart with unprecedented growth opportunities.

We are looking for a Product Manager who has the passion to lead and direct large-scale, complex, multi-year product and data/ML roadmaps across organizations, executives, stakeholders, with the ability to influence partner teams, data scientists, ML engineers, and software developers.  

Your work will make e-commerce safer for millions of people and you will have a direct impact on the business goals of Fortune #1 company. This role also offers a unique opportunity to innovate and improve on ways to use Walmart’s ecomm & omni-channel products like Scan & Go, Walmart Stores and external data to solve problems. A successful candidate will have an established background in launching software or services, hands on data science, AI, ML, technical background or experience driving technical products, an entrepreneurial background, and a passion for great customer-centric online products.

Our team supports cross divisional programs for Transactional Systems as a part of the Global Tech organization.

  • You are able to be both visionary and execute your vision.
  • Min of 5+ years of relevant work in technical product management, owning and driving end-to-end product requirements across multiple technology teams.
  • Experience in payments or retail or financial services industry as technical product manager.
  • Passion for technology, willingness to dive deep into the technical products Walmart is building, and commitment to learning and expanding technical knowledge
  • An understanding of large-scale systems and service-oriented architecture
  • Ability to lead, drive consensus and deliver in a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly and convincingly to a wide range of audiences., manage tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to dig into data and story tell based on the analysis. Build compelling business cases and ROIs and proactively drive business insights and optimizations.
  • Ability to prioritize well, communicate clearly and understand how to drive a high level of focus and excellence with a strong, talented, opinionated team.
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously

You’ll make an impact by: 

  • Bringing Passion to ideate, plan, and ensure customer privacy is at the forefront of all we do.
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing large datasets and developing dashboards to derive insights. Comfortable with SQL or a programming language.
  • Conducting industry and competitive analysis – we aim to be best in class.
  • Partnering with various stakeholders across the organization.
  • Developing and implementing process and tools – you will manage the establishment of a new way of managing product imagery at Walmart.
  • Defining vision and strategies for product content creation at Walmart, using domain expertise, internal and external best practices, identifying opportunities, building business cases, and gaining alignment in multiple internal and external stakeholder communities.
  • Building collaborative relationships with key partners by driving priorities aligned to business goals, communicating, and prioritizing implementation milestones, and gaining buy-in from executive leadership.
  • Providing overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs.
  • Building a team environment by partnering to solve problems and staying focused till there is a solution.
  • Developing & Leading associates across multiple geographic locations.
  • Being Decisive regarding expanding or shutting parts of the imagery operation based on business need and efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science and 5 years' technical program management experience OR Master of Science and 2 years' technical program management experience OR 9 years' technical program management experience.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or equivalent in experience
  • 8+ years in Technical Program Management
  • Two years of successful execution in a matrixed organization
  • Ability and willingness to think and act strategically and tactically
