Position Summary...

Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities. Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.

Our team is responsible for coding, unit testing, building high performance and scalable applications that meet the needs of millions of Sam's members, in the areas of Membership, Marketing and Map.

What you'll do:

• Work with Functional team to gather business requirements and provide technical solutions

• Drive design, development, implementation and documentation of solutions

• Collaborate effectively with global team in product direction and quarterly roadmap discussions 

• Strive for Everyday Engineering Excellence and Operational Excellence through innovation and product focus mindset

• Be self-driven, self-motivated, comfortable with aggressive deadlines and getting your team to execute on fast iteration cycles

• Lead the technical team and follow established practices for the delivery and provide reporting on the development and meet standards of solutions meeting QCD (Quality, Cost & Delivery). Ensure the deliverables are on time and with zero defects.

• Drive and fuel innovation within the team, build hacks, work on patents.

• Provide guidance to other members of the team on development related efforts

What you'll bring:

• 8-12 years of overall experience.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

• Experience in Leading the Technical team with a strong communication skill

• Development experience in Java 8 or above, lambda functions, streams, and related technologies. 

• Strong in writing modular and testable code and test cases (unit, functional and integration) using frameworks like JUnit, Mockito, and Mock MVC

• Experience developing micro-services architecture, and good understanding of distributed concepts, common design principles, design patterns and cloud concepts. 

• Experience in service-oriented architecture, inter dependency service management and orchestration.

• Experience in troubleshooting critical production issues at the plaform level 

• Hands-on experience in Spring boot, concurrency, garbage collection, RESTful services, data caching services and ORM tools. 

• Experience working with Relational Database and writing complex SQL queries. 

• Experience in working with NoSQL Databases like cosmos DB or similar. 

• Experience in working with Caching technology like Redis, Mem cache or other related Systems. 

• Good knowledge in Pub sub system like Kafka. 

• Experience utilising monitoring and alert tools like Prometheus, Splunk, and other related systems and excellent in debugging and troubleshooting issues. 

• Building tools and CI/CD tools to automate code pipelines (Jenkins, Git, GitHub, Concord, Maven, and Gradle). 

• Experience in Containerisation tools like Docker, Helm, Kubernetes. 

• Experience with public cloud platforms like Azure, GCP etc. 

• Experience in nodeJs, Javascript and related front-end development languages and frameworks.

• Experience in working with external configuration and secrets management tools like Azure Config, Key Vault etc.

• Experience in automation tests scripts, performance tests (jMeter) and DevOps orientation would be a plus.

• Good knowledge on Retail domain.

• Aware of Agile (Scrum) methodologies
