Job Title: Senior Software Engineer - Backend Developer

Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with extensive experience in backend development using Java and related frameworks, databases, and Kafka. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance and scalable server-side applications. They will also provide technical leadership and mentorship to the development team.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable server-side applications using Java and related frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, etc.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, frontend developers, and QA engineers, to gather and understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
3. Architect and optimize database schemas, queries, and related components for efficient data storage and retrieval using SQL and NoSQL databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.
4. Develop and maintain messaging systems using Kafka for real-time data streaming and event-driven architectures.
5. Lead and mentor junior developers, providing guidance on best practices, code reviews, and technical problem-solving.
6. Integrate third-party APIs and services into the backend infrastructure as required.
7. Perform unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to identify and fix software defects and performance bottlenecks.
8. Optimize application performance and scalability through code refactoring, caching mechanisms, and performance tuning techniques.
9. Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure smooth deployment and operation of the backend infrastructure, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and monitoring.
10. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and proactively suggest improvements to enhance the development process.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development using Java and related frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, etc.).
3. Strong understanding of database concepts and extensive experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
4. In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with message queuing systems, preferably Kafka.
5. Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
6. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and provide innovative solutions.
7. Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN, etc.) and agile development methodologies.
8. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
9. Experience in mentoring and guiding junior developers, conducting code reviews, and ensuring code quality.
10. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
