About the Team:
This position is part of the Finance CoE, Global Finance Transformation organization and will be based out of Walmart Global Tech Bangalore office. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for leading the Reporting & Analytics Center of Excellence (COE) and establishing COE support for Walmart Finance’s Gen AI office. The team based out of Chennai & Bangalore provides strategic reporting, analytics, and AI-driven solutions to Walmart HQ Finance Teams, International Finance, and cross-functional business partners, driving continuous improvement and transformation across the enterprise.
What you'll do:
Define and execute the multi-year strategic roadmap for Finance Reporting & Analytics CoE, aligning with enterprise priorities and Finance Transformation goals
Partner with Transformation and Finance leaders across Walmart’s key segments to identify high-impact opportunities for Reporting, analytics, automation, and AI-driven insights
Establish and scale CoE support for Walmart Finance’s AI Office, defining vision, roadmap, governance, and operating model
Drive AI based Operational excellence in the area of Report development & maintenance
Identify and prioritize AI/ML use cases across Finance: automated commentary, predictive forecasting, anomaly detection, intelligent automation, GenAI applications
Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing team of 25+ professionals, including senior managers, analysts, data engineers, and AI specialists. The team takes care of understanding the Functional requirements, Developing new builds & managing/maintaining the publication of reporting.
Lead managers: coach and develop next-generation leaders within the R&A and AI COE teams
Drive adoption of Agile/DevOps practices within the COE, ensuring rapid iteration and value delivery
Establish reporting standards, governance frameworks, and data quality protocols across the core supported segments & build a strong relationship with leaders & Senior management
Lead change management and adoption strategies for AI-powered tools, ensuring Finance teams embrace new capabilities
Develop ethical AI guidelines, model governance, and risk management frameworks specific to CoE applications
Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical executive audiences with clarity and impact
Strategic thinking with the ability to translate Reporting strategy into actionable roadmaps
Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and collaboration within the team
Track and communicate ROI and value realization from new reporting solutions and AI initiatives to executive stakeholders
Own the P&L and budget for the R&A COE, ensuring optimal resource allocation and ROI on technology investments
What you'll bring:
Master’s degree in finance, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field. MBA, or advanced degree in a quantitative field strongly preferred
20+ years of progressive experience in Finance, FP&A, Finance Technology/Analytics & Finance Transformation roles
10+ years in people leadership roles, managing managers and building teams from the ground up and a prior experience of building/leading a Reporting CoE
Proven track record leading large-scale Finance transformation initiatives in a matrixed, global organization
Hands-on experience with Finance reporting platforms: Power BI (advanced), Tableau, OneStream, or similar enterprise systems
Deep expertise in management reporting, and analytics
Advanced proficiency in Power BI: DAX, Power Query, data modeling, enterprise deployment, governance
Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and analysis from large-scale databases (Big Query, Snowflake, SQL Server)
Understanding of data architecture, data warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, and modern data stacks
Knowledge of AI/ML concepts: supervised/unsupervised learning, NLP, GenAI, LLMs, predictive modeling
Experience with Agile methodologies, JIRA, Confluence, and product development practices
Experience partnering with Data Science, AI, or Machine Learning teams to deploy analytics/AI solutions
Track record of delivering measurable business outcomes through technology-enabled transformation
Additional Qualifications:
Experience in retail, consumer goods, or e-commerce industries will be an added advantage
Global / multi-country Finance experience (US, International, or multiple regions)
Familiarity with Python/R for data analysis, automation, and basic machine learning
Experience with GenAI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Co-pilot) and prompt engineering for Finance use cases
Advanced knowledge of Agile product development methods and experience working with Product teams globally
