The Data Platform team is responsible for everything that happens to our data once it's taken off the trucks and all the way until it's in our end users hands for training, visualization, or further post processing. We build tools, frameworks, infrastructure and services used by every team at Waabi in order to interact with the various types of data that we collect and extract. Our data is continuously growing, and we aim to provide efficient, reliable, and a performant system to support the data.
You will...
- Be a part of a team of engineers that manages Waabi’s data lifecycle from vehicle offload through consumption.
- Own the tools, pipelines, services and platform that compose Waabi’s cloud storage and data management infrastructure.
- Build and maintain libraries for performant data access.
- Collaborate with other teams at Waabi, including research scientists, ML and software engineers, system engineers and program managers to understand their uses and deliver features that improve our overall data ecosystem.
- Track data usage and design retention polices to manage a rapidly and continuously growing amount of data.
- Participate in the growth and planning for how our data platform scales over the next years.
- Assist in roadmap planning, prioritization, and delivery.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of industry experience reading and developing production quality software.
- MS/PhD or Bachelors degree with a Computer Science, Robotics and/or similar technical field(s) of study.
- Experience using languages such as Python, Go, or Rust.
- Experience working in a team environment on a common codebase.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Open-minded and collaborative team player with willingness to help others.
- Passionate about self-driving technologies, solving hard problems, and creating innovative solutions.
Bonus:
- Experience working with robotics / AV data.
- Experience working with the MCAP format.
- Experience with AWS (S3, ECS, Batch, etc.).
- Comfortable with Linux.
- Comfortable with Docker.
- Familiarity with microservice architectures.
- Familiarity with workflow management technology (ex. Airflow).
- Comfortable working across a wide surface area of systems.
The US yearly salary range for this role is: $155,000 - $240,000 USD in addition to competitive perks & benefits. Waabi (US) Inc.’s yearly salary ranges are determined based on several factors in accordance with the Company’s compensation practices. The salary base range is reflective of the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Note: The Company provides additional compensation for employees in this role, including equity incentive awards and an annual performance bonus.
