About the Team:

We are the Bus team, responsible for the critical notification system powering the unified communication application being developed at Vonage. This application encompasses features such as calls, video, messaging, SMS, and more.

Our team members are deeply involved in projects from inception to completion. This entails working on various aspects including backend development, DevOps, and maintenance. Looking ahead, we have an ambitious strategic plan for the upcoming years that involves significant development efforts to position our product for the enterprise market segment. This includes expanding our service influence, improving scalability, and designing and executing new high-impact projects.

What You Will Do:

As a key member of our team, you will lead large-scale projects from end-to-end. This encompasses designing, researching, developing, testing (both functional and non-functional areas such as load, high availability, and security), deploying, monitoring, and maintaining these critical systems.

You will also contribute to the holistic roadmap and responsibilities of our existing projects. In the near future, our focus will be on scaling our system (both technically and feature-wise), building new services to support enterprise customers, and seamlessly deploying our services across a wider ecosystem.

Our Main Tech Stack: AWS (heavily utilized), Kubernetes, Java (Spring), Node.js (serverless, NestJS), PostgreSQL.

What You Will Bring:

• At least 5 years of experience with a strong focus on backend development
• Demonstrated success in leading several projects from start to finish
• Extensive experience working with cloud providers and production-level services
• Passion for tackling non-trivial challenges and a proven ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
• Eagerness to work closely with team members and cross-functional stakeholders across the company
