Software Engineer

What you’ll do

•    Working closely with related business departments to guide them while shaping their requirements.
•    Preparing necessary design artefacts (design documents, flowcharts, database models, architecture diagrams)
•    Providing suggestions for process improvements.
•    Performing troubleshooting and support activities for the software modules, products and solutions delivered. 
•    Working with partners to envision, define, and execute integrations
•    Ensuring the delivery of software modules, products and solutions with committed functionality and performance criteria, within committed timelines, in line with the business and operational standards
•    Mentoring and guiding less experienced team members to improve their skills and vision.
•    Fulfilling consultancy requests from customers (internal/external). 
•    Complying with information security policies, standards and procedures of Vodafone
•    Planning and coordination for solutions among technology teams.
•    To ensure appropriate measurement and reporting of service performance, usage and availability is in place to analyse the trends and to identify and prioritize the improvements needed
•    Implementing correct measurement of capacity demands
•    Implementing DevOps tools and life cycle processes for the services under responsibility.
•    Supporting Operational teams to address the issues related to the services designed and developed by our team
•    Working without supervision

Who you are

•    University Degree preferably on Computer Engineering.
•    8+ years of experience.
•    Excellent command of English
•    Good team player skills    
•    Ability to work with ambitious timelines in a dynamic, high-growth environment
•    Strong communication / interpersonal and decision-making skills – ability to balance conflicting interests
•    Familiar with working in an international environment                         
•    Know-how and experience on software architecture, design and development technologies such as:
o    Commonly used open-source tools and technologies,
o    APIs, Web Services, SOAP, REST and similar technologies,
o    Microservices, containers and cloud native applications,
o    Operating system, database and networking concepts, 
o    Agile software development methodologies, 
o    CI/CD tools and methodologies, Git, Jenkins, Nexus
o    UNIX/ Linux/Windows Operating systems
o    Application servers Weblogic/Tomcat
o    Java, .NET Applications and Management Tools
o    Database and monitoring technologies like: UNIX/Linux Shell Scripting, Oracle PL/SQL and MSSQL systems, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Cassandra, Kong, Redis, Celery, Kafka, Hazelcast, RabbitMQ
o    OCP, AWS, Google Cloud etc.
o    Kubernetes, Swarm

•    Significant know-how and experience of telecommunication concepts and network services such as:
o    End to end location-based systems design having GMLC & SMLC as main functionalities required to support location-based services
o    Location-based system integration with other network elements like DRA, MME, MSC, HSS, HLR including deployment, UAT support, training & handover to Operations
o    D7/SS7 network signalling stack
