What to Expect

The Lead Software Engineer will be part of our energy engineering team responsible for delivering end-to-end products and services to Vista customers. This role will be focused on supporting the Voltaris product line of energy storage systems with software platforms, features, and functionality involving data collection, management, and processing, hardware controls, internal and customer-facing applications, and energy system management functionality.

This is a multi-faceted role where flexibility to apply your skills to a variety of projects and needs is a must. Ability to understand customer and market requirements, combined with a solid technical foundation is expected. What You'll Do

• Design and develop the architecture for the software systems that will control and manage the energy storage unit, including the customer-facing front-end, back-end for our data aggregation platform, and on-device firmware.
• Define requirements and maintain documentation.
• Lead complex features and product functionality.
• Deliver end-to-end feature and technical leadership.
• Manage feature handoffs to operational stakeholders.
• Maintain feature and user experience quality.
• Work with engineering and UX teams to deliver scalable solutions that not only meet current needs, but consider future growth scenarios.
• Stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends to incorporate innovative solutions into our products.
• Communicate with stakeholders, including executives, team members, and users.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven track record in software development or technical product management in fast-pace environments.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, Rust, or JavaScript.
• Experience with software development tools and frameworks, and familiarity with embedded systems and IoT technologies.
• Experience in electrical engineering or large scale electrical systems a plus.
• Experience with UI/UX development for industrial applications and users a plus.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to execute and manage multiple projects and tasks in parallel.
• Knowledge of battery and energy systems.
• Deep passion for transitioning the world to sustainable energy.

Expected Base Pay: $120,000-$150,000/year

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
