Job Description

As part of the Payment Product Development organization, you will be responsible for system development, implementation, maintenance and support of Visa's Clearing and Settlement systems, which clear, settle, and deliver transactions to issuer and acquirer financial institutions globally. Through this challenging job, you will gain experience collaborating with various parts of the business in understanding requirements for system enhancements, identifying areas of improvement and implementing changes to the system where it is needed. The product that you oversee will be of the highest quality meeting all requirements within the scheduled timeframe.

Experience in designing responsive and cross-browser user interfaces, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for implementing designs into functional, interactive web applications. Responsibilities

• Ensure designs are accessible to users with diverse needs and comply with accessibility standards.
• Create and maintain design documentation, including style guides, design patterns, and design specifications.
• Leads and/or supports both product and technical discussions about how to apply existing and/or new technology in support of the business.
• Create design documents, code, unit/functional test, document and implement new programs and subprograms, as well as enhancements, modifications, and corrections to existing software.
• Take complete end-to-end technical & engineering ownership of one or more applications.
• Be at the forefront of translating complex functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design.
• Have significant influence on our strategy by helping define and build the next wave of product features and system architecture.
• Partner with Architecture and Business teams to provide best in class solutions.
• Champion Agile to inspire change and continuous improvement throughout the delivery process.
• Take a hands-on role in influencing and guiding day-to-day development activities by leading architecture decisions, participating in designs, design review, code review, and implementation.
• Be the ambassador for engineering best practice across the development lifecycle and champion continuous improvement across the Centre.
• Define solutions in terms of components, modules, and algorithms.
• Development and Implementation of the proposed solution.
• Use insights from user research to inform design decisions and improve user satisfaction.
• Must be able to understand the positioning of a solution within the company and to build consensus to effectively gain buy-in from all participants.
• Identify opportunities for further enhancements and refinements to standards, processes, and systems.
• Provide rotational on-call support as required.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a bachelor’s degree or 5 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and stakeholders, to understand project goals and requirements.
• Be an established self-starter who possesses a relentless drive to initiate change, raise the technical bar and deliver results.
• Proficient in creating visually appealing user interfaces with a strong focus on user experience and usability.
• Experience in designing responsive and cross-browser user interfaces to ensure a consistent experience across various devices and platforms.
• Proficiency in using tools like Sketch or Adobe XD or Figma, or similar for creating wireframes and interactive prototypes
• Strong skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for implementing designs into functional, interactive web applications.
• Understanding and application of user-centered design principles to create interfaces that align with user needs and behaviors.
• Ability to conduct and analyze usability testing sessions to gather insights and refine designs for optimal user satisfaction.
• Expertise in crafting meaningful and intuitive interactions through the thoughtful use of animations, transitions, and micro-interactions.
• Knowledge of typography principles and color theory to create visually harmonious and accessible designs.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git, to collaborate efficiently with development teams and track changes in design iterations.
• Develop and implement user interfaces and experiences for web and mobile applications.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs that align with user needs and project requirements.
• Conduct user research to understand target users, their behaviors, and pain points.
• Use insights from user research to inform design decisions and improve user satisfaction.
• Ensure designs are responsive and compatible across various devices and screen sizes.
• Strong skills in developing user interfaces with UI frameworks such as Angular, ensuring the creation of dynamic, scalable applications with optimal performance, and providing technical support for front-end development tasks.
• Implement UI designs, ensuring a seamless transition from design to code.
• Develop interactive prototypes to showcase design concepts and gather feedback for iteration.
• Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to evaluate the effectiveness of designs.
• Analyze testing results and iteratively refine designs based on user feedback.
• Design meaningful and intuitive interactions, animations, and transitions to enhance user engagement.
• Apply principles of visual design, including typography, color theory, and layout, to create visually appealing interfaces.
• Ensure designs are accessible to users with diverse needs and comply with accessibility standards.
• Create and maintain design documentation, including style guides, design patterns, and design specifications.
• Stay informed about industry trends, design tools, and emerging technologies to continuously improve skills and bring innovative solutions to projects.

Additional Information

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
