Job Description

Commercial and Money Movement Solutions (CMS) division’s charter is to capture new sources of money movement through card and non-card flows, including Visa Business Solutions, Government Solutions and Visa Direct which presents an enormous growth opportunity. Our team brings payment solutions and associated services to clients around the globe.  Our global clients and partners deploy our solutions to serve the needs of Small Businesses, Middle Market Clients, Large Corporate Clients, Multi Nationals and Governments.

Backend Developer(Java)

Seeking a Sr. Software Engineer as a backend developer for the Visa Spend Clarity For Business Product Development team. The Visa Spend Clarity For Business Product Development team is part of Visa’s Commercial and Money Movement Solutions (CMS) organization and is responsible for designing, developing and managing applications and services for VSCB.

Primary responsibilities for this role will include:

• As part of a cross functional scrum team, design, develop & test new applications and maintain existing applications.
• Understand the requirement, come up with the best user-friendly interface, which is simple, elegant, easy to use and follows Visa principles.
• Develop the backend microservices, REST Apis
• Develop code that complies with design specifications and meets security and best practices.
• Work with Architects, Product Owners, Project Managers, QA and other developers to successfully implement business requirements while applying the latest available tools and technology.
• Participate in design and code review sessions as appropriate to ensure the quality of work delivered by teammates is in accordance with development standards.
• Build working relationships with global and virtual teams on software development.
• Have a passion for delivering zero defect code and be responsible for ensuring the team's deliverables meet or exceed business expectations.
• Identify opportunities for product innovation and strive for improvements to best practices, standards and processes.
• Mentor junior developers to ensure deliverables are on time with good code quality.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:
• 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) in Computer Science, or related technology/engineering discipline.
• 4+ years of relevant experience in software industry.
• Experience in developing the enterprise grade software products at scale.
• Development experience in building and using Microservices , specifically with HTTP, REST, JSON.

• Experience with a Relational database and/or NoSQL database.
• Proficient in GIT/Stash, Maven, Jenkins etc.
• Exposure to NGINX, Cloud deployments etc.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and iterative software development lifecycle principles
• Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
• Basics in UI/UX development using Angular or equivalent UI platform.
