Job Description

Visa is seeking a seasoned and highly motivated leader to lead the technology strategy and operations function within VAS Product Development. VAS Product Development drives the diversification of our revenue with products that differentiate our network and deliver valuable solutions across other rails. The team’s strategy is to increase value to clients by developing solutions that address complex and emerging client needs.

This leader will be an integral member of the VAS Product Development Strategy and Operations leadership team reporting into the VP, VAS Product Development Strategy & Operations, Japan Debit Management Unit (JDMU) and Technical Communications Services (TCS) organization. The individual in this role will be responsible for defining and architecting the strategic direction for VAS PD, ensuring technology business operational excellence, assisting with technology due diligence for M&A or investments, and driving the execution of key initiatives across the organization working across the VAS PD leadership team.

This role requires a strategic visionary with a deep understanding of global payment products, technology strategy, external payment technology landscape, software development processes and technologies, GenAI, along with a strong ability to lead high-performing teams. This leadership role is essential to the successful growth and development of the organization. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, with a proven track record of leading successful teams and an ability to drive and manage change.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Drives the overall VAS PD strategy and develops VAS PD Goals and Objectives & Key Results (OKRs).
  • Translates broad strategies into specific objectives and action plans, aligning efforts with key stakeholders.
  • Implement operational efficiency and excellence across the VAS PD business operations function and with the VAS Product team.
  • Assist technology due diligence for VAS PD related mergers & acquisitions, and investments, partnering with VAS PD technology stakeholders.
  • Develop and track metrics and trends that focus on end-to-end efficiency from product requirements to development cycle time and velocity.
  • Partners with Product teams on monitoring and reporting on project portfolio management and performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Leads the creation and development of executive presentations including, but not limited to Quarterly Business Review (QBRs).
  • Supports a globally distributed team of 2800+ employees.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 12+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 15+ years
of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:
• 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of
experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with
9+ years of experience
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master's
degree or MBA is preferred.
• 9 or more years of related professional experience, successfully leading the
development of enterprise-level technology strategies in any of the following
roles: IT technology strategy, technology architecture, or technology M&A
and/or technology investment due diligence.
• Minimum 9 years payment technology industry experience. Includes deep
expertise in payment products and services.
• Deep IT expertise and experience designing and architecting complex
technical solutions that span all technology disciplines.
• Must have experience with a broad set of technology capabilities and
practices (e.g., GenAI, application architecture, operational processes,
development practices, networks).
• Outstanding verbal, written, presentation, facilitation, and business/IT
interaction skills. A demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex
technology concepts with senior executives across business and technology.
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies / principles and Product Lifecyle /
Roadmap management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong data / financial analysis skills.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 173,400 to 301,150 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
