Job Description

At Visa, the Corporate Information Technology, Finance Technology Team, enables Visa's revenue growth through global revenue applications built on next-generation technologies.

This includes managing system requirements, evaluating cutting-edge technologies, design, development, integration, quality assurance, implementation, and maintenance of corporate revenue applications. The team works closely with business owners of these services to deliver custom developed solutions, as well as implement industry leading packaged software. This team has embarked on a major transformational journey to build and implement best of breed revenue and billing applications to transform our business as well as technology.

We are looking for a QA engineer who will be responsible for functional testing and for building automation tools and frameworks for automation testing of enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will bring in-depth experience in building automation frameworks for testing large volume financial systems, building test automation suites, and performing functional testing for UI as well as data/batch-oriented applications.

Candidate must be passionate about using technology to build automation to replace manual processes in both testing and other software development lifecycle steps as well as flexible and willing to switch tasks based on team’s needs and priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop test automation frameworks for both web-based user interfaces and backend batch processes.
  • Build automation tools and test automation frameworks from scratch.            
  • Ability to translate requirements to functional test cases, execute tests and create data needed for testing without assistance.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to comprehend application design and specifications, subsequently creating detailed test automation suites based on application functions.
  • Work with the team in identification of opportunities for automated test executions and drive adoption of automated testing and tools through the product/project lifecycle.
  • Must be self-motivated with ability to work in a fast-paced agile delivery model.
  • Provide critical feedback to Software Engineers and product managers to improve existing and new features and capabilities.
  • Work with project teams highlighting and detailing any risks and assumptions identified.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in application analysis, test automation, business system analysis and quality assurance.
  • Hands on experience in writing / executing functional test cases for testing applications end to end.
  • Experience preparing test data based on business scenarios and creating tools and scripts to manufacture test data.
  • Hands on experience with Java, JavaScript, MySQL/Oracle database, Shell Scripts, JSON and XML.
  • Hands on experience in building test automation with tools such as Selenium, Protractor, Test NG, Cucumber, SoapUI etc.
  • Experience working with one of the modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, Node JS or React is needed.
  • Strong interest in new automation technology and trends with the ability to relate concepts to practical application.
  • Expertise with Agile/Scrum development methodologies and project/requirements management tools like JIRA.
  • Experience in configuring CI/CD pipeline using industry standard tools such as GIT, Jenkins, Maven etc.
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and leadership skills along with effective communication (both written and verbal) skills and the ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise way.
  • Experience working with Performance and load testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Prompt Engineering and OpenAI's GPT is a plus.
  • Strong teamwork focus and the ability to foster collaboration within and across teams.
